Hearing so much about this restaurant and was happy to hear that it offered dim sum. We finally got the opporunity to go try it out. Conveniently located in a strip mall that has plenty of other restaurants - korean, chinese. We arrived around 10:30ish and was seated right away. It opened at 10 so we wanted to get there a bit early before the crowd. Once seated, we were asked what kind of tea we wanted and then the carts starting arriving. It was non stop carts and all waiters were super nice and friendly. The dim sum dishes were all fresh and tasted great. Small plates were $3.25, medium $4, large $4.75, etc. There were also regular dishes you could order from the menu if you wanted something different. We were eager to try their salted fish and chicken fried rice. It was pretty good and not too salty. We couldn't finish everything we ordered so we took the rest home. I would recommend not arriving until at least 11ish. Arriving early has it's perks of quick seating but we noticed that there were more variety of dishes after 11. From the time we arrived until shortly after 11, we filled up on a lot of the regular dishes and were so full by the time different dishes came around, we didn't get the opportunity to try them out. But due to this, it makes we want to go back to try more, which i'm sure we'll do soon. Parking wasn't an issue as the strip mall has it's own parking lot. Also, dim sum is only offered on the weekends.

Fairly typical NJ Dim Sum experience. Dumplings were tasty as expected. Nothing really stood out either way. We intentionally arrived at 1:30p on Saturday and I was happy we were seated immediately. Dim Sum carts go until 3pm, an hour later than other places, so that made our decision easy. We didn't quite get the selection we were hoping for, however. Service was sparse and English was not great with the servers. We had several food allergies in our party and i was definitely concerned that we weren't getting accurate info on what each dish was. It was hard to get specific help; water, soda, sauces, etc. I wanted to order several things off the menu but was assured they would be around on the carts. Some were, but many were not. Soup dumplings were a bit better than most. Stir fried noodles were a bit less good than average - somewhat dry and tasteless. The meal for 3 was $135 before tip, which struck me as higher than average. On the whole, our experience was average. I will try again, but maybe just to confirm. I have had better Dim Sum in the Edison area, but not having to wait was a nice change. I would like to see a few more servers on the floor with better communication.

December 2024: Stars lower by 2 for questionable practices. 1- You have to also add TIP% on TAXES on your meal! and TIP is not OPTIONAL! - it REQUIRED! if the wait staff servers was like other restaurant then I would not mine. but service is typical Asian status quo, only reactive and not proactive. 2- If you order fresh seafood (Crab/Fish/Lobster/etc) @ $28/per LBS. we were fine with the price. But the weight of your seafood (Crab/Fish/Lobster/etc) is quoted verbally. no actual scale weighted for true weight in. I seen in other have a hanging scale to show your what you getting. July 2024: Star stays the same. Dinner: tested out the sweet and sour pork to see if they read reviews and improve on dish prep. Did not change at all. Double fried pork with refrigerator tastes to cut down on prep and cooking. Shortcut never wins. So everyone don't order this dish. Dim Sum: first time trying dim sum, very crowded, which means the food needs to be fresh. food is very tasty. Not like the pre-prepped double fried sweet and sour pork dish. Will come to do dim sum again. May 2024: -1* This time sat in the restaurant to try the sweet and Sour pork and it is still the same, pre deep fried and refrigerate to cut the cook time in half, you can tell if the meat is a bit hard and dark and not tender. If you do it to this dish, why not all you other dishes like fish, shrimp, and tofu. You can convert to restaurants to fast food to cut the time in half. Update -1*: Sweet and Sour pork is now at 75%, cutting corners on processing, now they cook it in advanced and refrigerate it, so now you will taste the refrigerator air taste, not made fresh except the sauce. I would rather wait the extra time for it to be made fresh. If your crispy chicken was made fresh, why not cook all your dishes fresh. Why take shortcuts? Who's lost? Not the customers, we go somewhere else. the business is at lost. I had take out twice, man, the food is on point and authentic Cantonese flavors. Sweet and sour pork is to die for, I haven't tasted this flavor in such a long time. It's 95% accurately to what I had over 35+ years ago when I was a kid. Some prices are good, and some dishes are a bit pricey. The place is spacious, tons of parking. Dim sum prices are good. They can generate more business if they do the 3dish& soup combo like in flushing. This would also help out some of the single working parent/unemployed families.

I hate to do it but this food was really bad. Service was terrible too. We were surrounded by maybe 8 waitstaff that were loudly having a conversation over our table while completely ignoring us. The fish tanks were scary, dirty with one fish literally rotting as it swam. Chunks of flesh missing from the barely swimming fish. The rest of the tanks covered in a thick green algae. The food, everything was super gloppy and kind of tasteless. I dumped vinegar over everything to get it to taste something: Let me break down what we ordered. Beef with pan fried noodles. Literally just brown colored water with goop and corn starch. first time i have ever been to a chinese restaurant where they served food under cooked. normally all the proteins are hammered, this time it was rare. lobster with ginger scallion. Perhaps the smallest lobster i ever saw. like there is a lobster tank but they didn't go into the tank to retrieve our lobster. The lobster meat was tiny and stuck to the shell, resulting in every piece of lobster being shredded by the time it came out of the shell. The sauce was literally just unpeeled slices of ginger with maybe three of 4 3 inch pieces of scallion. Cauliflower with smokey bacon was again covered in a thick stArchy sauce. no smoky bacon, it was chinese sausage and cauliflower in a non described white sauce. No wok hay, it was like boiled cauliflower served with boiled lap cheong in a sauce where i can only imagine it was water with corn starch. Fried garlic chicken, was the only thing worth mentioning and it was average at best. Yikes. Only saving grace, it was byob but yeh, no would not return under any circumstance. It appears that people come here for dim sum more than dinner. we also tried a har gow it was perfectly acceptable as it was a frozen product. Maybe stick to things that they purchase frozen and reheat. I live in New York City but I have been to some wonderful restaurants in Edison, this ain't one

I stumble upon this dim sum restaurant as I was visiting a client in New Jersey. It’s pretty quiet on a Wednesday noon, so there are lots of parking spaces and tables. The restaurant looks pretty dated. They have plenty of large round tables to accommodate large parties. They also have private rooms for parties that wish to do KTV. I did inquire this, and the minimum total amount spent for a private room is $450 at the time of this review. Regarding the food, their dim sums taste alright and made to order. However, their dim sum portions are small in comparison to other dim sum restaurants in NJ (and even NY). Their Shrimp Shumai and Pan Fried Eggplant are probably the highlights of their dim sum menu. As for their Lunch Specials, $9.50 as a starting price is pretty sweet deal. It comes with a choice of soup and rice. However, their soups leave a lot to be desired. I order the Chicken & Broccoli, and there’s just not enough sauce. The chicken is okay, and the broccoli isn’t fresh. As for the Grouper Filet with String Bean, that dish tastes pretty good. As for the service, the servers aren’t attentive. They do not care, and they do not speak or respond. It’s like they don’t want to be there or work. Overall, the dining experience is just okay. Their prices are good (if you pay by cash), but that’s what you get in terms of quality and service.

Our party of 12 came here with a Friday night reservation for 6:30 PM. We weren't celebrating anything in particular but we did order a lot of the classic birthday dishes, including fried flounder, lobster, abalone, chicken, conch with fried tofu and shrimp, fried shrimp with mayo, sweet and sour pork ribs, longevity noodles, and fried rice. I haven't had this type of traditional Cantonese food in years, so this was very nostalgic for me. My favorites were definitely the fried flounder and the lobster. The shrimp with mayo was a little disappointing because it was just a lot of batter. Typically, it should just be a light coating, so that was a bit different. Although this is a bit far for me, I think I would still be willing to make the trek every once in a while, especially since there isn't really any authentic Cantonese food by my neighborhood.
