BAD BAD BAD. Completely appalled. What I thought would be a great brunch turned into a disaster. Joined the waitlist an hour and a half prior to coming, once we walked in the host told us we still have 30 minutes until we were to be sat. No big deal. Until we walked backed to the car and told us we would be seated ā 30 seconds after they told us a half hour. Now this was a relief although it was bad customer service it was a relief. Once we got sat our car waitress did not even acknowledged us simply set down a water kraft at our table with no cups. Now it is the new year and we brought champagne. Not once was champagne classes ever offered. Now this is a byob breakfast spot so, no issue that there was no champagne glass.. but as a waitress it is your job to offer us extra glasses. As the morning went on we asked for cranberry juice and grapefruit juice for the champagne and a bucket of ice. I wish I was joking when the waitress brought back a singular small glass of ice. Now I am a manager at a restaurant and Iāve never done this before but we didnāt tip. The waitress didnāt look us in the eyes , didnāt introduce herself or anything. She was upset at the fact that we asked for ice and glasses for our drinks. At one point I asked for 3 glasses of ice so we each would have a little bit and she still only brought over a singular one. After an hour and half of bad service I tried getting the attention of a manger who stood at the bar right next to our table .. she also rudely ignored me. That is when I said ok, do not tip this waitress or the establishment. As I and a friend went to the bathroom the waitress Olivia returned to the table and attacked my friend for not tipping. Olivia I hope your day got better after we left, I also manage and waitress at a small business that gets busy very quickly. That is no way to treat your guest. It was new years we were gonna tip the bill. Honestly shouldāve called the police for the harassment, but Iād rather write a review than involve law enforcement. Completely embarrassed of what happened to my friend and convinced it was because she was the only person of color at the table. I absolutely loved this place so much that I brought my friends of 20+ years to experience it and I will NEVER be...

Nestled in the heart of Edison, Le Peep redefines the American breakfast and brunch ritual with a masterful balance of comfort and culinary sophistication. The venue marries rustic charm with a modern, neighborhood-friendly warmth, positioning itself as not merely a breakfast stop but as a refined brunch destination worthy of serious gastronomic attention.
The Ambiance
The dining room radiates an approachable eleganceāairy, bustling, and convivial, yet never chaotic. Service is brisk yet personal, with a staff that embodies hospitality without pretension. This synergy creates an environment where both business brunches and leisurely family outings flourish seamlessly.
The Highlighted Plate: Avocado Toast Crowned with Farm-Fresh Scramble
On the plate presented, one encounters a seemingly humble dish elevated to artistry: toasted artisanal bread providing a robust, earthy foundation; a silky layer of avocado spread, vibrant in freshness; and atop it, delicately scrambled eggs, folded to perfection with custard-like softness. A scattering of scallions and a restrained touch of chili flake complete the composition, lending color and balance.
What impresses here is not flamboyance but restraint. The dish is an essay in balanceāfat and acid, creaminess and crunch, heat and freshness. Each bite speaks to precision in execution and respect for ingredients. The fruit medley served alongside (strawberries, melon, orange) extends the palate, offering a clean, refreshing interlude between bites.
Accompanying this plate, a chilled glass of orange juice underscores Le Peepās commitment to brightness and vitality, while water served in branded mason jars reminds the diner of the restaurantās ethos: approachable, local, and unpretentious.
The Verdict
Le Peep Edison proves that excellence need not be extravagant. By elevating classics with finesse, they transform the everyday brunch into a memorable culinary moment. This dish in particular demonstrates how thoughtful preparation can turn a staple into a statement. Nothing to say about the staff theyāre awesome. Really enjoyed the experience. Keep...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Le Peep in Edison today, and while there were some positives, the overall experience left much to be desired. This spot used to be known for great food and service, but it feels like itās been steadily declining with every visit.
First, let me acknowledge the highlights: the busboys were excellent, as alwaysāquick, efficient, and on top of everything. Additionally, our server was fantastic. She had a very patient and positive attitude, which made our experience a little better. She was attentive and friendly, and I really appreciated her professionalism amidst everything else.
However, the rest of the visit fell short. When we arrived, the young male host at the front seemed annoyed and unwelcoming. He acted as though my request for a table was a hassle. Thankfully, a young female host stepped in and reassured us, which helped smooth things over.
Normally, I use the Yelp app to check in for the waitlist, but it wasnāt working today, which added to the frustration.
As for the food, it was just okay. The hashbrowns were almost burnt, and the rest of the meal wasnāt as good as it used to be. Itās clear the quality has dropped over time. To top it off, we witnessed the young male host seat a family at a table that hadnāt been properly cleaned. The busboy was still wiping it down, and the table was visibly wet when the family sat. It was awkward, and they seemed uncomfortable but didnāt say anything.
Le Peep used to be a go-to breakfast spot for me, but the food quality and overall experience are no longer what they once were. The busboys and our amazing server were the saving grace of this visit. I hope management takes steps to improve the service and food quality, as the decline is noticeable.
