Clean Taiwanese bakery with a treats for a little something for everyone. Definitely come here during the weekdays for a calmer experience.
The atmosphere is super chill with many people coming in to purchase baked goods to bring to work or home. I saw several patrons seated and plugged in, working on their laptops. Music fills the air but it's not loud that it's hard to have any conversation. They have at least 5 tables and benches against the wall and several round tables in front those tables. Two to three high tables are by the window. Several outlets allow patrons to plug in and do some work.
This bakery has savory treats, sweet treats, treats that are light and airy, treats that are more dense. They have pineapple cakes, hot or iced coffees, espresso, lattes, capaccinos, bubble teas, and the list goes on. Personally, I do enjoy their cakes. They have both individual and whole cakes for sale. If you purchase an entire cake, they will include an edible chocolate birthday or anniversary card along with candles and a plastic pie server.
Service is quick and efficient. Upon paying, they will ask you if you are signed up on their loyalty program. If you are, you just give them your phone number and it will automatically give you a discount of x items that are on sale for that week. If you are not a participating member, no worries because you can sign up literally within a few minutes and you are on your way to rewards. They honor both Android Pay and Apple Pay.
But you are now reading this and still asking me: "but is it worth the price?" Somethings yes and somethings no to be fair. All their beverages are very competitive and yes, it's definitely worth the money. All the beverages I had here have all been stellar. Same goes for all their cakes. Unfortunately for me, I have a family of sweet tooth. I stand alone for savory. Some of the pasteries are too lacking with their filling. Some are a tad too sweet, for my liking. For the price that I am paying, I wish their baked goods would be bigger.
If I had to make a comparison, I would say, this is an Asian Starbucks kinda vibe. Would I come back? Whenever I am in the area, yes but I wouldn't make a special...
Read moreThis is my go to place for fresh lemon, honey green tea, it's so refreshing especially for a hot summer day.. To satisfy my craving I order one today and it was usually sour than normal, I asked the sales girl if I can get some extra honey , she replied that the recipe and she cannot give me any honey, I mentioned I would pay extra for the honey, she replied that she can't sell me the honey. The training manager said he would made me another one, I said I didn't want to waste the one that's already made to just give me some honey to add in. He said that'd the recipe and he cannot change it. I then give in and said ok, make me another one, seeing the fresh lemon larger than the normal size, I asked him if he can use less lemon He said no that's the recipe he can't change it.. I then asked for a refund and left disappointed..maybe they should use measurements of lemon juice instead of 1 whole lemon, lemon comes in different size.. But instead of losing a customer, it ok to give extra honey or less lemon..it's human customer service instead of acting like robots and keep repeating that's the recipe we...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of Sunmerry though yes their prices are a bit high. I think it's worth the quality of their baked goods and yes, let's go ahead and compare them to Paris Baguette. I feel Sunmerry has better drink offerings but it's a pretty close tie in the baked goods department. They offer different kinds of items and also similar items so it just depends on what your fav bakery items are and why. Either way I think it's worth a try if you haven't had Sunmerry before!
The roast pork bun with the sweet topping is quite good though you will be paying a whopping $2.50 for it..it's pretty worth it for a once in a while treat. A slice of the cake will run you $5 which in all fairness is a bit high as well but hey, I went for it anyway. Though if the prices were a tad bit lower this place would easily earn 5 stars from me and they'd probably know me by first name. So my waistline is thankful for the slightly higher pricing to...
