Lo Chiatto's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Edison

I must say this location exceeded my expectations. As a native New Yorker I have tried many pizzas and enjoy hopping around different pizza spots to give a fair review. I had the opportunity to try the plain pizza, Hawaiian, calamari and their soft bread. The pizza has a sauce that makes you savor every bite. You can taste the ingredients in the sauce and that’s appealing to me. The Hawaiian did not disappoint either definitely on par with the taste and presentation. The calamari was seasoned perfectly, it has been a long time since I had calamari that had flavor. Usually other places have soggy and bland calamari but not this location. Also the soft bread was tasty and a delightful treat for bread lovers. I also cannot forget to mention the service and ambiance. I live nearby and order out like once a week. Good take out is scarce around here and Lo Chiatto's does not disappoint. The plain pizza is pretty good... wouldn't say it was the best I ever had but with extra sauce it's a strong 6.8. The fried calamari is in the 9's!! Yes I said 9's. They're small n super crunchy even after sitting in the container on the ride home. Idk what it is about them but they're legit. The salads are great and the toppings (tuna and grilled chicken) are packed on (not like the place across the street). I would rate the salads but that would be unamerican and I'm not about that life. Overall I give it 5 stars because it's the best place around not the best place in life. I didn't even know this place was there until a week ago. We decided to give it a shot based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. It isn't the best pizza we ever had but it's definitely a hidden gem for the area. The crust is great, sauce has good flavor, everything you want in a good pizza. The Buffalo was great too, alot of flavor and they are generous with the amount of chicken. The pictures on Google don't do this...
