I recently dined at this restaurant and had the pleasure of trying their delicious Chicken Hakka Noodles and Drums of Heaven. The flavors of the food were truly impressive, earning a solid 3.5-star rating in my book. The Chicken Hakka Noodles were perfectly seasoned and had a wonderful blend of textures, making every bite a delight. The Drums of Heaven were equally delightful, with a mouthwatering combination of crispy exterior and tender, flavorful chicken inside.
However, my dining experience was marred by the service. It was, unfortunately, a complete letdown. Despite having patrons standing near the entrance, ready to assist, once I stepped in, the attention to customer care seemed to vanish. Simple things like offering water upon arrival were overlooked, requiring me to ask for water myself. It's disappointing when a restaurant neglects these basic courtesies that can greatly enhance the dining experience.
To make matters more perplexing, when it came to desserts, the process seemed counterintuitive. Although desserts were processed through the same payment system, I was instructed to personally walk over to the counter to place my dessert order and settle the payment. This contrasted starkly with the premium image the restaurant seemed to project through its pricing. Speaking of which, the restaurant has positioned itself with prices that suggest an elite dining experience, but unfortunately, the service quality doesn't align with this positioning.
In conclusion, if you're visiting this establishment solely for the food, they are truly worth the visit. However, if impeccable service is equally important to you, it might be wise to explore other dining options. While the food deserves commendation, the disappointing service experience and the misaligned pricing for the level of service bring down the overall rating of...
Read moreWe were ashamed and surprised as we found the waiter here was trying to cheat us. Funny thing is that we allowed him to cheat us, just to see the modus operandi.
It was Saturday (6 May 2024). We came to Moghul Express in the afternoon. A middle aged waiter came to us and greeted us sweetly in bengali. We asked for some recommendations about food and ordered based on the same.
Maybe he made a guess based on our discussion that we were tourists who won't know how things work. So, when we asked for check, we were surprised that he didn't bring the check; he just brought a card reader. He told us the amount and then insisted us on not to pay the tip via credit card. He asked us to be silent and give him tip in cash instead.
Ofcourse I knew what he was doing. But I allowed him to play us, just to confirm what I suspected. As instructed I paid the exact amount via my credit card and paid the tip in cash to this waiter.
I am sure he was delighted on seeing how he fooled us. But as he was leaving for serving another customer, I called him and asked for bill. I could now see his face going pale. He hesitated. But I kept insisting. Finally, despite all resistance, he got us our bill. The bill clearly showed that the restaurant had pre- deducted some amount as tips, since we were 5 people. This meant that the waiter lied to us about tips and made us wrongly pay him tip in cash.
However, the food was really delicious. But- do keep in mind- some waiters are trying to fool you. I understand they are less paid- but this is not the way. And being an Indian it was embarrassing to see such stupid mentality of my fellow Indians who are...
Read moreI have been a customer of Mughal express since they started their restaurant in Oak Tree. My whole family like their food and their warm services. Lately, I have noticed they have served bad food and their service is poor. Their servers are rude and lacks training.
I went last week and Dined in after 2 years. I ordered 2 Dishes. I had to wait for a long time to get the food. When they served one dish my wife asked for Onions. The guy went and did not get it. Then I asked another server to get the other dish. He brought the dish after 10 min and when I asked for onion he replied rudely saying that I am telling him for the first time and he will see if he can get some.
He came back after 2 mins with some onions. When I ate the Rice it was slightly uncooked. After we finished the food the first server came and asked me to pay my Bill using the wireless payment reader. I paid the bill and did not pay the tip since they did not really provide good services. The server loudly said ‘ No Tip’ for which I replied that Tip is not their right but the reward of good services. Of course I pay 15-20% tips most of the time. When my wife and I went out, one of their Lady came out and shouted at us saying that We did not pay the bill. This really broke my anger. I went inside and told the Lady that she should ask her colleagues first before shouting at their customers in front of everyone. I think they don’t have proper training for restaurant business. There are ways to ask a customer if they have paid their bills instead of shouting.
I have decided not to go to any of the Arora’s owned...
