I’ve ordered pizza from this location AT LEAST 20 times in the last month and few weeks. Things were good for the most part but of late, just issues after issues. The last three orders I placed, the delivery drivers didn’t put the Quality Sticker (which makes it so boxes cannot be opened during transit) and after last weeks order, I even called in to complain about it and was reassured it won’t happen again. Ordered last night and no quality sticker.
I almost always order the exact same thing (pizza with two 8 piece wing combo) and regularly add the four 2 liters for $8 coupon as well. The only issue there is that the app doesn’t allow you to pick Brisk Iced Tea so I always have to call it in for them to change it, which they always do without issue.
Well last night I called in and they placed me on hold for nearly 25 minutes and eventually I received a notification that the driver was on the way, so I hung up. I don’t drink soda (which is what I temporarily place the order with until I make the change) so I got stuck with four 2 liters of soda. Apparently they didn’t have a driver on site last night and the Doordash driver mentioned that there was only one employee there working by themself at close.
I put another order in today without the sodas but called in immediately after to ask for them to replace the sodas out since it’s not my fault that they’re understaffed (management should have done a better job with the schedule) and the guy I spoke with (an Indian accent) was extremely rude, repeatedly speaking over me and not even acknowledging my complaint about the “quality sticker”. I kept telling him to stop speaking over me and since he wouldn’t oblige, I asked for the site manager. He claimed he was the manager so I asked him for his name and he refused to give it to me. I told him I was going to write a negative review for the type horrendous service he was giving and he told me to “write any name” and how he’s fine with me writing a negative review.
Reached out to customer service shortly after and am expecting a call from the regional manager. Never ordering from Papa Johns again. People need to learn some customer service etiquette and also take responsibility when they screw up to a customer.
UPDATE: Just as I was finishing this review, the regional manager called me and stated this type of service is unacceptable and that he’s heading to the store. I will further update when he gives me a call back in the next hour or two with some type...
Read moreI'd rate this a ZERO but a ONE star is the lowest I could go. The cashier/worker/manager (not sure of his title) refused to serve us and shut off all the lights on my husband and me because he said we were trying to rob him. The OPEN SIGN was ON and the place didn't close until midnight. We got there between 11:30-11:40 pm approximately and there was no sign on the door indicating their hours of service. We go to the door to order and the worker runs to the door, shuts off all the lights, and waves us off without saying a word. I ask him through the window what time he closes and he ignored me.
I also want it to be know that I CALLED THE STORE afterwards (because they may still deliver even if the store front is closed AND BECAUSE at this point I'm assuming there was some type of language barrier) and he said he wasn't letting us in and closing early because he's not trying to be robbed tonight. I'm so upset right now it's not even funny. To make matters worse it's my birthday and my first day back living in NJ and to be accused of trying to rob the store for simply trying to place an order at a business that was open.....He had NO Reason to think we were trying to rob him other than the way we looked.....I will NEVER give them any business every again. And by reading the rest of the reviews it's clear that this place is terrible on customer service and management or corporate needs to...
Read moreOur family had an extremely disappointing experience with this Papa John’s location on Sunday, October 19th. My father placed a prepaid delivery order by phone through the Edison branch for a family gathering of over 20 people at the MLK Cricket Ground. Since the park was within the South Plainfield delivery zone, the order was transferred to that store.
The delivery driver called my father once, but when he returned the call just minutes later, the driver claimed to have already taken the order back and refused to return—despite several people being present at the park. When my father later contacted the stores, both the Edison and South Plainfield staff were rude and unhelpful. Individuals identifying themselves as “Rupender” and “Vikas” claimed to be managers, but corporate later confirmed that no such manager named Vikas works at the South Plainfield location.
Both men refused to issue a refund, hung up multiple times, and handled the situation with complete disrespect. It’s unacceptable for a well-known company like Papa John’s to allow such unprofessional and dishonest behavior. My father deserves both a full refund and a sincere apology for the poor service and treatment...
