Andy's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Edmond

Decently sized Andy's location with a spacious ordering area that is semi-indoors. I say semi because it would be indoors but they have two large garage doors that seem to remain open at least during the spring/summer. There were a few benches available just outside the building but none are located within the shade when the day is at its hottest. So the only area of improvement I could see is to offer seating or standing areas that are located within a shaded area. The only shade is the tree line to the west of the parking lot. Which is where us and multiple other parties of 2 to 5 people gathered to escape the heat of the summer sun. Other then that this place was great. There are lots of frozen custard options that can be prepared differently, such as a concrete which is a cup of frozen custard with things mixed in with it, or an ice cream sunday or split but made with frozen custard. They even have an app with a rewards program where you can earn free custard and receive notifications about special deals or promotions. There is a single lane drive through that begins at the northwest corner of the building. There is ♿️ wheelchair access from the NE and SW corners of the building. There are also clean single stall male and female restrooms that are accessible by wheelchair and are roomy enough for a caregiver to accompany someone who might need assistance using...

Excellent custard and Excellent service. Their store is absolutely spartan. I initially used to buy their turtle Sunday in Joplin, Mo some 25 years ago and my brother happened to be in Joplin and mentioned Andy's Custard. I had forgotten about them but remembered quickly because they were the best. Cut to the future and I quickly searched to see if maybe Andy's had franchised their operation and holy cow there is like 3 locations in the metro area. Edmond, OKC, and Norman. The strawberries looked too ripe but they are at the grocery store too. The rest tasted really good though in my straw ana sundae that had banana, strawberry, and custard- but I got chocolate custard instead of vanilla 😋. Okay if you eat there but not if you want to take it with you because there was no lid on it and I doubt they have one to fit the wierd shape. They only gave me one napkin. I tossed what was left in the trash before I left so I wouldn't make a mess in my car. Also bad I didn't see a restroom so I had to wait until I got back home. 5/26/2023...
