This place generally is a great place. But any public place you never know what/who you will run into. I have probably been here near 100 times, and rarely rarely rarely ran into bad people. But Monday around 3 in the afternoon there was this psycho girl who looked college age but acted grade school age. She started yelling at me because I "stirred up the ducks" (they followed me because I feed them maybe once every 2 weeks or so). She said the geese will "explode" if you feed them too much (You're not supposed to feed them bread, which is why I feed them dried corn kernels) She claimed there were signs "all over" the park saying not to feed the animals (I have never seen SINGLE sign stating this) and after she dropped about 6 very loud "F-bombs" she ended her psycho girl rant by telling me I "deserved to be bitten" (I assume by one of the ducks/geese who seemingly love me and my corn feed). Women...... if it is your time of the month, or if you just escaped the juvenile psych ward, PLEASE go to a public library or an empty classroom (they are all over UCO) and don't go to the PUBLIC park if you want immaculate silence for a study hall. Not a park with tiny children and dogs and the like. This has been a...
Read moreAh, fair denizens of this fair realm, lend thine ears to my tale of Ec Hafer Park, a verdant sanctuary in Edmond, Oklahoma. Behold! A majestic expanse of lush greenery, where nature's embrace doth soothe the weary soul and charm the wandering heart.
Within this enchanted haven, children frolic like sprites amidst playgrounds adorned with whimsical delights, whilst families gather 'neath the boughs of ancient trees, their laughter a melody that doth rival the sweetest of larks.
Oh, how wondrous are the sights to behold! A shimmering lake, where swans glide with grace, and ducks quack merrily in the gentle breeze. Picnic blankets unfurl like tapestries upon the emerald grass, where feasts are shared in joyous camaraderie.
But hark! 'Tis not merely a place of frivolity and mirth, but a bastion of safety and solace, a sanctuary to be forever shielded from the encroaching shadows of Mordor. Let its beauty be preserved for generations yet unborn, that they too may revel in its splendor and find respite from the darkness that seeks to...
Read moreHader park is a fantastic natural get away in the middle of Edmond. It features three playgrounds, a duck pond with a very nice veranda, a paved trail than runs for miles both around the open areas of the park and through a more secluded woodland area, plenty of natural shade all around the park, a concert stage, volleyball pits and an exercise area with everything you need for a basic work out. Concerts, festivals, and group gatherings are a frequent occurance. Their are also restrooms available. Hafer park is always clean and while there are always nice people to meet, it is rarely crowded. I have been going to Hafer park for nearly two decades, I have lived all over the United States and this is one of the best parks I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Whether you're looking for some light fishing in the pond, a great run in the outdoors or just to meet new friendly people or a fantastic picnic, Hafer Park is an...
