Be Well Acupuncture — Local services in Edmond

Terrible customer service, unaccommodating and unfriendly front office staff.

My wife recently booked a 1 hour and 45 min appointment, and due to the terrible weather conditions, the traffic caused her to be 10-15 minutes late. She called ahead to inform the clinic that she would be late, but no one answered. She called again, but still no one answered. The voicemail instructed her to text the doctor (or staff member). So she did, saying she would be a few minutes late, and received an "Okay!" followed by a thumbs up emoji.

When she arrived, she was rudely informed by the front office staff that the Dr. would not see her. They claimed that they only book appointments in 10 min intervals, and that the time had already passed. However, my wife had booked 1 hour and 45 minutes of their schedule. The staff confirmed this with "oh except for your appointment". So by our math, she would still have 1:30 min of the appointment remaining? But no, instead she was met with an incredibly rude demand for a $75 cancellation fee. She was also met with sophomoric and unprofessional responses like "well I made it in to work on time today?".

My wife and both work, and are reasonable people. We make it in to work on time as well, but life happens - a late baby sitter, weather, traffic, whatever the case may be, sometimes you just cant catch up. The considerate thing to do is to call ahead, inform someone about the situation and consider how to proceed, which she did. In this case Be Well gave her no reason not to come in, in fact they encouraged it, and when she arrived they demanded a $75 cancellation fee accompanied with unprofessional, and insulting attitude, despite having an hour and a half remaining on the appointment. The Be Well website declares a welcoming "safe space" and happy environment. I would say that this clinic falls embarrassingly short of that claim.

After leaving, my wife received and invoice in her email, requesting payment for the full appointment, and treatment(that was obviously not received) to the total of $130. This is extremely unprofessional behavior on behalf of the office staff, and more so Dr. Twitty, for allowing this behavior in a professional setting. Conversations could have been had to come to some sort of agreement, but instead, they chose immature, demanding, and demeaning behavior towards a would be customer.

In closing, Be Well Acupuncture's radiant display of poor communication, and unprofessional attitude, made it clear that our business was not welcome. We will not return, we will not recommend Be Well to anyone seeking acupuncture therapy, and will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

IF YOU'RE SKEPTICAL, READ THIS. Alright, I hope I have your attention. I put that sentence first because I definitely was (skeptical). After I re-injured my back, (I could barely stand let alone take care of our kids as a stay home dad) and after traditional western medicine had failed (unwelcome pain medication, physical therapy, sent home with a sheet of paper with ineffective stretches on it) my partner and I were desperate. She's the one who actually made the appt. I just agreed to show up. I can't us expletives, so I'll just say I am forever grateful that I did. Dr. Toni is the most personable, understanding, concerned professional I may have ever met. She knows what she's doing, and is happy to share her knowledge and insight with you and explain what she's doing. Her establishment is so welcoming, pulling out all the stops. After only my first appt, I was in less pain and had more mobility than I had had in a long time. I've been going on a weekly basis for months. I kid you not, I can feel the difference in pain levels and mobility whenever I miss an appt. Her investment in my care, and the care of other patients (I have had to wait a few minutes once or twice, but it was because she was taking her time to understand another patient and figure out how to help, and I know she would take her time with me and my issues too. I'm cool with that, and it only makes me respect her more.) as well is so refreshing, after years of using western treatments for chronic pain that only made it possible to just get by. She is insightful, and has asked me questions that have made me start to get my many chronic issues rechecked and possibly re-diagnosed. She is also very understanding when kids are a thing, and has always been willing to accommodate my kiddos when they have to come with me. I have had the most amazing acupuncture experience, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked into the clinic, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The office staff is so kind, caring and personable. They knew my name when I came back, remembered details of my life story and genuinely cared. Also, shout out to Chyanne who went above and beyond every time!

Toni, I cannot say enough positive things! You are so personable, kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. You are a bright light!

I came in with facial paralysis and one of the recommended treatments was acupuncture. I was so insecure and self conscious of my face. Toni was reassuring and helpful in creating a treatment plan.

The treatment itself was incredibly relaxing. From the soothing Alexa music to the ambiance of the rooms. I could feel the stress melting away as the session progressed. After just a few treatments, I noticed a significant improvement in my overall well-being—both physically and mentally; however, just like Toni said… after 4 or 5 sessions, my face dramatically improved with movement. It was like I could smile again.

If you're considering acupuncture for any health concerns or just general wellness, I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try. It has made a huge difference in my life, and I’m so grateful for the care and expertise I received!
