Great Environment. Excellent Coffee. The triple berry scone is great too! I need to have breakfast here one day. It always looks super good as they're bringing it out to people. - 6 Years ago. 👆🏼
2015 - 2019
This has become a regular saturday destination for my family and I. We call it waffle Saturday. What Jason and family brought us was a place where we could all get something we love.
Nov 2019
We still love this place. It's changed a bit. Some ways great. Some ways not so great. For us at least. Everyone will think about this place differently. It’s still waffle Saturday. With some changes. Still a great place to be. And amazing food and coffee. One request: bring back the cinnamon waffle!!!!
Update Dec 2019
Egg toast is great. And if I can’t have the cinnamon waffle I will for sure settle for good cinnamon rolls. Had a cinnamon roll this morning. It was very very good.
Update Jan 2022
We haven’t been as often as we would like recently. Covid really made it difficult. But when we are I can say this: their staff is so accommodating to our family. We don’t know these people outside of the one time a week we come by. But man they have really made a team that cares. The food is still great. The coffee is good. But the service is next level. Thank you for making my family feel known and taken care of.
UPDATE MARCH 2023
Still great. Coffee has suffered a bit since switching to proud mary - middle state is just better coffee. Service is still good. But I do have some feedback.
Bravo on the cinnamon waffle. Glad it's back. A welcome addition to a great menu. And that's another thing. The menu is great. I love the waffle sandwich and always will.
The outdoor seating is incredible. On really good weather days there's nothing better than sitting out there. It's great.
Now some not so good feedback:
Please can we tell single people to not take up an entire 4 person table for themselves. There's bar seating all along the front area that's perfect for that. I never sit at a 4 top unless I've got people with me. I know that's more on the people than evoke themselves but they could ask or help families a bit. Not sure how. But it's difficult to fit a family at bar seating.
Today: I asked about cinnamon rolls. Ya know. The best thing they make here. And I was told 20 mins. Perfect. I'll be back in 20 I said. I ordered $50 of food and sat with my family. Waited for a black coffee that never came. But other than that it was a normal Saturday. I figured. I'll grab that coffee when the rolls come out. They're busy and I don't want to bug them. So when they came out I stood in line. I was maybe three people back. No one ordered cinnamon rolls in front of me. So I thought we were good. Got to the front and tried to order one. THEY'D PRE-SOLD THE DANG THINGS AND THEY WERE ALL SPOKEN FOR. Since when can we order them before they come out?! Maybe tell me that. I would've ordered one earlier. 😕
Anyway. Still love this place. Any business has their good and bad days. Hoping this was a rare occurrence. I know the staff has turned over a bit. I'm hoping the values and vision the older guard had can make it's way into these new people. Culture can shift over time. But I'm confident they will be fine.
Update March 2023 part two.
Welp. Walked in today. 4 separate single people sitting at 4 separate 4 person tables. There were two families standing with their kids at the bat.
Aaaaand we walked out… it was easier to get a seat at sunny side down the street.
Update December 2023
We’ve made our way back. Honestly some of the same stuff is still happening. I am sitting in evoke right now typing this and there is currently a man with a whole monitor and keyboard taking up an entire table. 🤦🏼♂️. That’s not the owners fault. As a matter of fact. They put little signs on the desks to remind people to be nice and to think about others. Great touch.
I love this place. It’s so familiar. The people are awesome. The staff is awesome. It’s just good. I try as often as possible to be here...
Read moreHated it. Terrible food. Subpar service. I will never go back. I ordered three items: 1. Grilled cheese Panini with goat cheese. When paying $8-$9 dollars for a grilled cheese you would expect something decent. Instead, the cheddar cheese was sprinkled sparingly in the very center of the bread and the goat cheese was also only spread in the very center. Leaving the outer edges of the sandwich dry, hard bread. It was awful. I sent it back with a request for additional cheese to be added to make it edible. When it came back to the table a slice of cold cheese had been added to each half of the now room temperature sandwich. I was shocked. 2. Hummus and veggies. The hummus was delicious! But it came with 5, thin, quarter sized, slices of cucumbers. What? Are you serious? This was to share with friends. I requested additional "veggies" and only received a few small pieces of carrots. 3. Iced coconut green tea. I have neither good nor bad to say about the tea. It was ok. I remain neutral there. To add to the terrible Panini, the service really lacked. I had asked for splenda twice and finally was told they were out. I also had to request the veggies for my hummus twice before receiving anything. On top of that, my friend ordered a mocha iced latte which sat the baristas bar for a few minutes without anyone calling her name or bringing it to her. I finally asked if it was hers (she had her back facing the bar) and she had to go ask. It was, in fact, hers. I guess they expected her to guess when it was ready. Again, I will never go back. They will never again have 1 of my hard...
Read moreI had the pleasure of having Evoke Coffee at our wedding, and I can confidently say they were a highlight of the event. Choosing a coffee bar instead of a traditional alcohol bar was a unique decision for us, and Evoke Coffee exceeded all of our expectations!!
They were incredibly easy to work with, understanding our vision for the coffee bar and what impressed me most was the variety of options they offered. While coffee was the star of the show, they also provided other delicious options such as cider, hot chocolate, and more to cater to guests who may not be coffee enthusiasts. Everyone had something they could enjoy.
Despite a busy line at times, they worked quickly and efficiently to serve our guests, ensuring that no one had to wait long for their beverage of choice. The feedback from our guests was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their surprise and delight at the extensive menu options and the quality of the drinks.
Overall, I couldn't have been happier with Evoke Coffee's service at our wedding. They brought a unique and memorable element to our event, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a special touch to their celebration. Thank you, Evoke Coffee, for helping to make our wedding day truly...
