Friendly staff, we were immediately greeted and seated as soon as we walked in and the gentleman seating us allowed us to pick where we sat which was nice since we had a wheelchair. Each table had a neat bottle/candle set up with multiple colored wax drippings running down the sides of the bottle that they lite when your waitress comes over. Our waitress thankfully immediately put the candle out since my wife is on oxygen tanks. Food was great, their Greg's Lasagna is the closest lasagna in Oklahoma to the lasagna that you will find in New Jersey. My wife hasn't been able to find New Jersey styled lasagna anywhere in Oklahoma yet, so we will definitely be coming back for the lasagna. I had the Tortellini Diablo but with Alfredo sauce instead of spicy marinara sauce. It was one of two specials of the day. It was good but the sliced vegetables were huge and not easy to eat as it came. Seemed like a lot of prepping at the table before it could actually be consumed. Not sure if all their dishes come with abnormally large chunks of vegetables, so it's best to come with the mind set that you will have to finish prepping your food before consuming. Most Italian restaurants bring bread to your table shortly after being seated so you can enjoy eating the bread while waiting for your entree but not here, they don't bring the bread to your table until they are bringing your entree also. We even asked for the bread but were told it would come with our meal. So we ordered a Garlic Bread with Cheese appetizer that took a little bit to arrive at the table but at least didn't arrive with the entrees. So we didn't even try the complimentary bread at the restaurant and had it for left overs back home. They do offer specials occasionally, it was half priced pizza night when we visited but our waitress never told us and we only found out by over hearing another table being told. Also the daily special isn't really a special in regards to price but that it isn't always on the menu. I wouldn't have ordered the special if I was aware of the price before hand. Also there are no prices on their desert menu but we liked their abundance of choices of desserts. The Turtle New York Cheesecake was delicious but is not a traditional turtle cheesecake but is a regular slice of cheesecake that comes with caramel sauce and a Hershey's...
Read moreAmazing restaurant. I thought the prices were commensurate with the quality of the food and the service. First the staff, they were pleasant, smiling and very accommodating to our party. Our waitress Haley and waiter Felix made us feel like were were at the neighbors home, they were great. Our drinks and appetizers came in a very reasonable time, and our drinks never went empty without being asked for a refill. The appetizers: The bruschetta bread could have been toasted a little more but the flavor was spot on. The stuffed mushrooms were also very good and piping hot. They have olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan at the table, so we were free to season as we liked, that is a great idea more Italian restaurants would do. The entrees came just as we finished up the appetizers. I had the Manicotti and I ordered it with a creamy pesto and cheese, and well, it was as good as Grandma DeCostanzo's manicotti, and that's saying something. Our friend had the Penne pasta with balsamic reduction and onions, she loved it. My wife had the chicken parmesan, she thought it could have been sweeter (I don't know what that means) but she puts Ketchup on everything, I know, I know. I though it was very good although I like my chicken crust to be a little crispier. The sauce acidity was great. The crowning jewel to the evening was the coconut cream pie, and please trust me, I know something about coconut cream pie. I describe it as a cross between a lightly sweetened coconut custard that married a coconut cheese cake. Perfect crust, and just the right amount of sweetness and coconut flavoring. I'm going back to buy and entire pie. In the top 2 of the best pies I've ever eaten. Another note, I thought all the serving portions were exactly what I needed to be sated, but not so much that I was miserable when I was finished. We only wish we have ventured here sooner, as this will now be in our regular eating out rotation. Thanks to the entire Edmond...
Read moreFood and service have been great the past couple of times my wife and I have dined here. I recommend the coconut cream pie for dessert. However, this last visit was a bit different.
When we were seated my wife took notice to an older couple who were seated behind me. They were upset that we were seated at the table near them. They told their waiter that it was appalling how we were dressed. We were dressed casually. I had shorts on with a button up and my wife with jeans and a long sleeved shirt. No big flashy designs or logos. Casual. The wife commented on how we had our 3 month old baby in there and shouldn't have brought him in. My son slept the whole time not making a sound. My wife maintained her calm. I was oblivious at this point. They called a manager over and continued the complaints and how they shouldn't have to deal with this sort of thing. The manager APOLOGIZED to them and never said a word to us.
Apparently this couple is well known by the staff. Many staff members stopped by for small talk and used their first names. My wife suffered through his glares and loud complaints. When they left she told me what had happened. I was quite upset. The manager never once apologized to us or acknowledged that anything had ever happened. That's what ruined my evening and appetite for Othello's.
TL;DR: An older couple, well known by the staff, complained that my wife and I were horribly dressed (we weren't) and that we had brought our 3 month old child in with us. They were apologized to by the management inches away from our table and we never received so much as a glance or a "sorry".
The service was good, our waitress - the best, the food - just great, but basic respect for all customers by management is lacking. Three stars for the food being good and our very nice waitress with...
