Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Edmond

If I'm not in a hurry, I will park instead of using the drive thru. This morning, I parked and saw the sign that said due to understaffing the location is drive thru only. I reversed back to the drive thru since I was on the other side of the building, and there was zero traffic. Another vehicle that had been sitting at the drive thru, tried to get service by parking as well. Since they were unsuccessful in getting service, I called the location to see if they were even open. The gentleman that answered the phone had an attitude about how I got to the drive thru line and was completely uninterested in providing service. The only solution was to drive back around the building so the drive thru would "pick up" that I'm there and need assistance. If that is true, why did you not provide service to the vehicle that arrived before me? I am also in a frontline customer service position and I understand how tiring it is to be the only one working and working long hours. That does not excuse giving poor...

The crew here is amazing! We ordered our food from a stall (because we're not the inconsiderate types that order food in the drive through, and if that applies to you 🤷‍♀️, Do better. Anyways, I digress). I got a sausage toaster and tots with a vanilla coke. The hubs got a chicken sandwich and tots with a diet dr pepper. No photos of his food because he eats like a hoover and it was gone quickly. When we ordered, the person taking our order told us that they make the chicken sandwiches fresh so it'll be about 5 minutes. Okie dokey, that's cool. A few minutes later she comes out and apologizes profusely because the person making the chicken sandwich accidentally dropped it on the ground and they had to start over. She was very sweet about it and gave us a coupon for our next visit. They didn't have to do that and they did. Excellent customer service. Our food was hot and delicious. Well worth the wait. I work nights not far away from this Sonic. This morning the gentleman that greeted me on the drive thru mic was the ABSOLUTE BEST! He gave fist pumps to the car ahead, the friendly and cheerful vibe made my day!!! When I pulled up to get my order, there's the sweetest little blonde young ladie that's always friendly. I actually got to meet the guy that answered for my order as well. He had the brightest smile and I just couldnt help but love this experience. I know it's a fast food place...I know it was nothing to them...but boy it really made me smile. I'd like to thank them both for kind service and some BOMB cheese sticks for this night worker headed home to rest my head. You never know what someone is going through.
