I want to say 3.5 stars but that’s not an option. Everything was slightly above average.. and would have been great if they had added seasoning to each item. Price is kind of average for WA, slightly high, but I will say the portion is surprisingly big.
Family friendly: yes Parking: yes, small lot and loads of street parking Pet friendly: No

RESTAURANT MENU: I want to say this place is a Greek-Mediterranean-PNW-Water theme – like it really doesn’t know what it wants to be LOL. Immediate outside the main doors is a giant sasquatch wood carving and when you walk in, the waiting area is very blue with metal mermaid silhouettes. The rest of the restaurant is didn’t have a lot of décor but had a lot of wood paneling everywhere. What I thought was very cool was the wood fire oven they had in the back of the restaurant.
The menu is like their “theme” as in it couldn’t decide. They have some gyro, burgers, “flatbread”/pizza, seafood baskets, pasta, etc. I will say, it has something for everyone with the exception of Vegan or Vegetarian and if you were, the pasta bar would be your only real option.
SERVICE: Everyone was polite, sometimes friendly, but I can say everyone seemed to be in a rush. The host, which may have been the floor manager, sat us quickly but didn’t really speak to us. The waitress was friendly and did check in on us but she wouldn’t stay long enough to answer more than one question or take one order before she was...
Read moreThis is our favorite go to place of 2023 almost every other weekend we would go. No disappointments. Until Oct 13. We love our high end craft drinks, with there new drink menu it was shockely disappointing there was maybe 2 drinks that were decent. We were sad to see the drink menu change and hope it will change again sometime. As for the food it is alway exceptional, always delicious. Except that day my Flatbread was way over cooked but not going to discredit that because usually there very delicious. My most displeasing complaint was there service that day We have seen this place packed full and not packed and we were aware that day it was not that full. I forgot her name but she was blonde and a little on the short side and had a ponytail, she was very nice and super smiley but she came to us twice within 15mins between each other and we were ready as always sense usually we know what to get before we come, but we never saw her again that night and waited for about 30 mins until the bartender, sweet gal took the initiative and noticed us and came out to get our order. (Lack of communication I presume) She took really good care of us that night. As the rest of the night goes, I accidently spilled my drink all over the table and floor. As we see people cleaning off tables or the young gentleman setting the tables, no one seemed to a glance or offered to help. I went to go ask for more napkins inside to clean up the mess. My big thing that I would say from this night is that if the waitress/waiter has to go for the end the day/night or transition somewhere else, I would say something to people that they are severing and waiting on and letting them know. It's a polite thing to do. ( Hey my shift is ending for the night, but I leave you in good hands of xxxx ) Example As I was in the food industry awhile back it was courtesy thing to do. I have always connected with the waitresses here at this location and love this place no matter what. My stars I'm givin are well deserved and not based off this one day. We will back as this place is still our favorite in edmonds. PS The bartender that is new at Tablas Woodstone Taverna bertending for 30 years, deserves to be here in Demtries, just my opinion, honestly her knowledge on craft drinks are outstanding and deserves to be high end in Bellevue/Seattle. She sweet we loved meeting here at the Tablas. Treat her...
Read moreWe’ve been here many times, and have been happy to have a good waterfront option for summer drinks. But the last two visits have been a little shocking. We had the same female waitstaff for both visits. On our most recent visit, we ordered a bottle of wine, many minutes went by, she finally brought an already opened bottle to our table and immediately told us that the bar staff “just opened it.” Then she poured our glasses without a word. Seemed weird if not suspicious. So when she came around again I asked why she hadn’t opened the bottle at the table. Her response, verbatim: “he just opened it at the bar, is there a problem?” That was the last time we saw her throughout the meal. At the end I asked for the check, she pulled out a device, told me she could take care of it right there. She told me the total, I asked if I could see an itemized receipt first (I’ve caught enough mistakes on restaurant tabs that I always check before I pay. This saves me and the wait staff the headache of having to correct the mistake and credit me after I’ve paid). She replied, again verbatim: “yeah, I guess, if that’s what you want.” Then she went to print out a receipt, came back to the table and literally tossed it at me while she waited there for me to review it.
To be fair, we have usually gotten pretty good service at Demitris, and the food is always really good (although the wife does miss the vegan lasagna), and so we always tip 30% or more. I believe that if you are going to be a “regular” somewhere, you should take care of your people. That said, this particular staff member, for reasons we cannot figure out, seemed very short tempered and hurried and behaved as though someone were making her do this. As we watched her with other customers, we saw similar levels of rude, curt behavior.
If you are a prospective customer and trying to figure out if Demitris is worth it, the answer is “probably.” The food is usually great, the atmosphere is good, the service may be hit or miss.
If you are the owner, you should know you have a staff member who is ruining your business. If we go there again and experience similar apathy and disregard, it will be...
