A quick summary of my experiences with the Denny’s staff.
Most of the waiters at this establishment are either high or really want to be high. The first visit, however, we had a pleasant experience with a waiter named Edison. He listened to our tale of how we almost ended up in a car accident after being routed to the wrong Dennys, leaving our friend that we agreed to meet at this Dennys stranded alone for 2 hours. He did have the small quirk of always trying to pour water out of the SIDE of the pitcher, spilling it on the table literally every time. But other than that, Edison was great. 9/10 for Edison.
Our next waiter was Wyatt. For our first experience with him, he was just like Edison. Just a nice, good listener who seemed to enjoy our conversation. On our next visit, however, Wyatt decided to give us a side quest. He asked us if we could drive to the Home Depot to pick up his buddy and a trailer full of wood (Although, the details of the quest might be wrong. It was a long time ago, but it definitely involved his friend and getting something from Home Depot.). We did not. We were all in high school at the time and decided it was not a good idea. Overall, Wyatt had the same vibe as Edison, but seemed to have ulterior motives. 6/10
DatBoiChilln. Our third waiter. This time, it was me and one friend. We arrived at about 1:00 AM. The very first thing this waiter did was plug his Instagram. @Datboichilln or something, but I think his profile has since been deactivated. After plugging his Instagram, he proceeded to take our orders. But he didn’t bring me my food. For some reason he just didn’t tell the kitchen to make my meal, and we sat for an hour after my friend had finished and my crepes still didn’t come out. He eventually told me that he had told the kitchen but it was going to be at least another hour until my food was done. He offered to refund me, and I accepted and left without eating. And he PLUGGED HIS INSTAGRAM AGAIN (Which was full of his explicit drawings of anime girls). IF YOURE GONNA PLUG YOUR INSTAGRAM THEN FINE, BUT AT LEAST BRING ME MY CREPES. But he did tell me I looked like Hayden Christianson, so that definitely earned him a few points. All in all, I didn’t eat, so I can’t give him more than 2/10.
Today, Edison and Wyatt are off the grid. I can only hope that they found a better opportunity for prosperity and wish Wyatt luck with his Home Depot debacle. As for DatBoiChilln, before his Instagram got deactivated we saw that he moved to dominos, and then a Walmart. Do not follow his Instagram if...
Read moreService was terrible. I went to this Denny's for my 21st birthday a couple days ago - was there a little after midnight - and they refused to get us drinks. Everyone with me had valid state issued identification. My PARENTS were with us. But because we didn't have flipped IDs the waiter refused to get us drinks saying his management didn't accept vertical identification cards to get alcohol. My friends have been going out and about with their identification pretty regularly since their own birthdays for months, and years in some cases. One friend had HEARD of this kind of thing happening but this was news. When we had called earlier in the day they also neglected to mention this little rule of theirs, even though it was clearly mentioned that it was a 21st birthday. None of us were intoxicated, had no underage individuals at our table, and there was a bar not a meter behind our table which we should have been able to order drinks from. My parents couldn't order drinks for us, despite us all being of age. Yes, they asked. It was my BIRTHDAY. But the waiter said our drivers licenses and state ID cards weren't valid to buy alcohol if they were vertical. The waiter then took our orders (obviously alcohol excluded), and brought HALF of our orders to the table and then argued with the cook about wanting to go on break before the other 4 people were fed. I waited to eat with them and my steak was cold before they were served. There were a handful of other people in the restaurant. Honestly one table next to us and two people at the food bar near the kitchen. That was it. My friends weren't fed for a good 15-20 minutes after us. Service was poor, they refused to accept our identification - even though the only restriction recognized in WA is that it must be a valid state or military issued ID or a passport, with a photo and signature - and he argued with us about it until I almost cried. Happy fricken birthday to me. I have been going to Denny's for most of my major events because they are convenient, I enjoy the food, and it's always been pleasant. But now? F-that. Made me almost cry on my birthday for BS reasons? Not cool.
Sidenote. Went down the road, we drove down the road and bought alcohol at a store to take home no problem, so they can't even say it was a county or city thing. And half the people who wanted to be with me for my first drink - my parents included - couldn't because of how late it got (in part because of the slow service) so Thanks a lot for...
Read moreWent tonight at 8:00pm. Right as we entered the waitress said the power had been out and that they couldn't make anything other than burgers or fries for us. We were trying to be very patient and cooperative with her to make it easy on her. We asked if certain menu items were possible and she said she would ask the cook if they were fine, she brought out our drinks and had completely forgotten about it. An hour and a half goes by where we had to keep walking up and getting refills and kept having to ask if our food was able to be made. After 2 hours the people at our table who had ordered burgers had their food brought out, she then asked if we had decided, we again asked if she had found out about our menu items we asked for, she said she would be back. 10 minutes later she comes back to tell us they aren't able to make the menu items. We order different food and 30 minutes later our food comes out. We then asked to speak with the manager who didn't seem to care about our concerns (We had a person who needed to drive back to Portland and we were hoping to have left by around 9:00). We then go to pay and the manager said he couldn't help us pay and that he had to ask someone else to do it for him. We then waited another 15 minutes to pay. At this point we were livid and were trying to keep it contained. While talking with him about making our meals free so we could just leave, he threatened to call the cops on us for trespassing because we weren't being quiet about the issues we were having. Another 15 minutes goes by and we were able to pay for our food. He then said he would make it so we could never go back to a Denny's again for threat of trespassing. We never defaced property and were just voicing our concerns to the management (in a rather loud tone) about the amount of time it took for us to get there and then leave...
