Just got back from here with some leftovers. First time visitors and we'll definitely both be coming back again!
The gentleman that served us was extremely kind and courteous and seemed very genuine with his helpfulness.
The place was very clean and well kept, I didn't have to wipe down any dishes or cups with my paper towel like I do at most places, there were no unwanted flavours in my water (which I know is a low bar but is worth mentioning with how common it is!!), I also didn't feel crowded or too close to the other tables and guests.
I got the Pineapple fried rice, +pork +chicken +shrimp +egg -peas and carrots My partner got the Pork fried rice, +pork +chicken +egg -vegetables Both got no-spice since it was our first time trying the food there.
We both loved our food and had a great time here. I tried both dishes, his was savory and we both exclaimed aloud multiple times how tasty it was (which I also did with my own, he just liked his enough he didn't want to risk messing with the flavour pallet by trying mine :P) His would've gotten a little too salty for me over time but I also don't add salt to my food at home so I notice the flavour very well. It was still delicious and I would've happily devoured it, just with extra tea ^_^ Mine had that savory flavour as a good undertone but made me think of the flavour of his, plus sweet and sour chicken. The flavour was balanced really well and went well with the pineapple without being overly sweet or overshadowing the other flavours in the dish.
The price on the receipt for the base Pork FR was 15$ and Pineapple FR was 16$. With +2$ for each add on (+3$ for the shrimp) it was 22$ for his and 24$ for mine before the tax/fees, which made it just barely over 50$ before the tip for the two of us to both have our fill of the tastiest and best fried rice we've had in a long time, in a very nice little restaurant, with extremely kind and genuine feeling staff. (A lot of places that have good fried rice have their base cost around 20$ anyways, I know that there are some places that are lower, but this was fantastic food and service and we'll still happily add all of those add ons next time and consider it a great price for...
Read moreThis is our first visit to this place and seriously we had our most aweful time there as we were literally kicked out of the restaurant by its owner before ordering.
Long story short, we brought our baby and grandma, drove 40 minutes to try their dumpling today 9/30 at lunch time. We were seated fairly quick, and we self served our baby a high chair. We needed to use the restroom, and was told by the waitress to take the key to unlock the door. With being mind that their restroom is strictly limited to their not so many customers and you would think it is ok, however it is filthy and the hand soap tank is empty.
Upon returning we put the key back in place, and someone else grabbed the key. An Asian woman (later found to be the owner) snapped at us, confronted us for not returning her key, and I told her we returned it and it was taken by someone else after us. That woman then started bitching in front of all people about people never return her keys and she needs to get the state licensing department's approval to get another one. Then she turned to her staffs, instructing them to keep an eye on people not retuning the key.
We simply ignored her show and started reading the menu. The climax begun, that woman came to our table saying she felt we had some questions, and start educating us again on her key's policy. We have had enough and told her to stop and leave us alone immediately. She got furious, yelling at us to get out of her place or she would call the police. The waitress beside us were astonished, we left the store right away. This time we are really concerned about the owner's mental stability.
I posted this review based on my true, unbiased personal experience happened today 9/30/17. After leaving that horrible place, we went to the noodle and dumpling house at 19th St in Everett, and their food and service was...
Read moreHad the opportunity to try some noodle soups and dumplings here. I wasn't blown away, but I'd say they're a bit above average. Nothing crazy, but tastes authentic and genuine as in there's flavor and it's not overly done. Flavor is mild and easy to get into without exaggerating any element.
Braised beef noodle soup - pretty authentic beef noodle soup! However, like mentioned above it's a bit milder on the flavor. The broth is slightly salty and not too rich, it would be better with some other aromatics or green onion. Broth could benefit from more time with bone and beef. Beef was tasty and noodles were average. Overall, could use more vegetables.
Seafood noodle soup - broth here was much richer, a bit creamier. Made some sense and there was more overall content inside. Two mussels, four small shrimp, scallops, and an abundance of vegetables. One of the better, heartier items for a meal but could still be better.
Pork & chive dumplings as well as the pork & shrimp dumplings were fresh! They're extremely hot and you're warned beforehand, so that's appreciated. Light soup inside, but it's boiling hot. I think the dumplings are the highlight which validates the name of Dumpling Generation. There are better dumplings at larger restaurants and chains, but this is a great spot for local dumplings that aren't dried...
