I’m not usually the type to leave a review, but I’m dumbfounded by the treatment received from this place.
This is a double sided coin, in that the WAITRESSES, who helped and serve our table were very kind and helpful. My boyfriend and I are from across state and were ditched without a ride in Edmonds (couple’s dispute on my friends end). The waitresses were kind and let both my boyfriend and I charge our phones. The fries we ordered were good, and the drinks were nothing to complain about.
At some point during our check being processed, I believe, my card was swiped on another order. Not a big deal :) I have been a waitress in the past and done this myself!
I noticed this mistake the following morning when $68 more dollars were charged on a transaction I did not make.
We go out of our way to visit Rory’s the next day, expecting a swift help and fix.
The male bartender was rude, dismissive and condescending. “We don’t take Venmo.” He replied, and brushed me off. I was kind, patient, and had the receipts on my phone.
Luckily one of the waitresses from the previous day was there to vouch for me.
We were traveling across state, I was wearing mismatched clothing and a baseball cap with no makeup. I’d imagine if I was wearing my typical clothes, with makeup and my hair done this wouldn’t have been met with such a dismissive response.
I’m a student, my bill was $31 after the tip was added. Rory’s was able to process my check but not refund the $68 mistakenly taken from me. That’s a lot of money for some people.
As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry, I have never ever ever treated someone like this, and have gotten in trouble for doing so.
It’s Thursday, we went in on Saturday.
I have not been refunded.

Read moreIt was late and we were hungry so no pics, lol. Definitely start your meal off with a Bowl of Balls! We had the pesto garlic cream sauce. I thought the 3 of us were going to fight over who wanted to lick the bowl more 🤣 Great portion size of 8 balls, although when there's 3 people, I really don't know why restaurants don't throw in an extra to make portions divisible. Wouldn't it be nice to avoid that awkward, "no you go ahead", "no you" scenario??? I had the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. It came with fries. I don't know if they make their own, but they were hot and crispy, and were salted perfectly. The sandwich was so delicious!! I ate every bite!! The honey sauce was abundant, the crispy chicken patty was exactly that, hot, crispy, and cooked all the way through. No icky chicken bites 😳 And the sweetness of the bread and butter pickle chips accompanied it perfectly, plus gave a little crunch to the texture of the sandwich as a whole. Hubby had the Prawn Basket, butterflied prawns and fries. Mom had the Rory's Fish n Chips, panko breaded cod. Again, great portion sizes! Both had a hard time finishing their meals and agreed that everything was deep fry crisp, hot, and seasoned exactly to our tastes. The place was clean, a little dark (I mean it's a bar so that expected, right?), and loud (although we didn't realize it until we were back outside after our meal). Our waitress did a great job of making us fat and happy. Our appetizer arrived very quickly and we had just enough time to eat it, and get it out of the way, before our main dishes came. All 3 of us agreed, we'd definitely be stopping in for bowls of balls, and would go back just for them 😋 Don't forget to hit the like button if you liked my review or found...
Read moreA family restaurant and bar near the Edmonds ferry. Dark, cozy inside and nice outside seating if the weather behaves. I didn't notice the parking situation since I was parked in a horribly long, 3 boat wait, ferry line. There is your pro tip. Good place to go when your trapped in a ferry wait line.
The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with details about beer menu and if there were nightshades in the chowder. I got the seafood platter. It was large with panko fish, scallops, clams, shrimp and fries. I don't remember the fries which means I wasn't impressed but I do remember the fish and scallops which were better than I expected for a non-fancy restaurant.
The chowder was very good, thick and creamy, sitting somewhere between an Ivars (good) and Pike Place Chowder (excellent).
My friend had the prime dip. As a professional, international researcher of such sandwiches he said it really hit the spot and pleased him. He talked about it half the meal, so I tend to believe Rory's has this sandwich nailed.
Ya, ya, ya but would I recommend Rory's? Hell yes. It was good, fast service, hot deep fried seafood and beer while waiting for a ferry in a hot summer day. I could have waited for 3...
