Iâve eaten and drank at Salishâs other location for years - literally ordered to-go from there at least once a week during Covid - but wonât be going to visit either location from now on after our experience at the Boathouse today.
On a sunny, definitely not crowded day, we showed up with friends (and kids in tow) for a nice lunch and some day beers. Immediately upon entering we were made to feel unwelcome from one particular staff member who made sure to tell us to âtetherâ our children. This was just the first comment in a string of comments that quite honestly turned all of us off of this place, including âWhile you chose to bring your kids, others didnâtâŚâ which was just a bizarre thing to say.
Keep in mind, given the place wasnât anywhere near capacity, our group of 8 was undoubtedly the largest ticket. Our kids were being kids - but not annoyingly so. No other patrons said anything, even when we apologized to them out of courtesy.
The brewery culture in the PNW has always been open and even inviting for families - but apparently not here, a place with a large outdoor area that honestly makes it easy for kids to have fun while their parents spend money.
I wonât be spending any more here, though,...
Read moreWas invited to a night of trivia and drinks- this was my first time here and the trivia host let everyone know we would have to find seating inside for those wanting to participate- I noticed the trivia host was a young girl who looked upset and as we walked in I notice she was quietly crying- I felt bad and walked over just to make sure she was okay. She apologized for crying and said she was just a little upset because she showed up to host and couldnât figure out the sound system for the mic and the staff there were rude to her and wouldnât help- she ended up just shouting out the questions as best she could the whole night while the bar staff watched annoyed- one of the bartenders even complained that the trivia company never trains their staff. The beer was good and the space nice but when youâre in a space where compassion isnât present and fellow humans are just rude for no reason it kind of makes everything else seem ruined- good service and treatment of others is...
Read moreThey say they are dog friendly, my wife and I whom are both veterans went here with our service dogs. When we went inside and I said they were service dogs the red headed waiter seemed to not believe us and snickered to his coworkers about it. They then went and got the manager to talk to us and he asked where our vests were. Our dogs were in costumes as it is Halloween weekend. And itâs no requirement that a service dog wears any form of identification. Any restaurant or establishment should know this unless extremely inexperienced. Overall they made us incredibly uncomfortable and were extremely unprofessional. Just a grungy low class place with low class workers. Drinks were mediocre. Would not recommend with many better establishments close by.
Edit: this is your establishment owned by the same individual. Therefore the review goes for both locations since you simply dodged it on your other one and blamed it on the dogs being in...
