My wife and I had a terrible first impression. Her, myself, nor our two kids have ever had Chipotle before. We won’t be back.
The promotion they are advertising on their app and website was for a new hand-crafted quesadilla, which, according to their mobile website, the quesadilla was only available online. My wife wanted the quesadilla, so she tried to place the order on their mobile site, but their site said that the Edwardsville location did not have mobile ordering. Just to be sure, we downloaded the app, and tried again, but to no avail. Lastly, we thought we would see if they would allow us to order it in the store, but it was not on their menu board.
Not the worst thing in the world. It’s a new store. No biggie. So when it was our turn to place our order, one of the employees, which were mostly likely SIUE students working their first-ever jobs, failed to listen to my wife when she said “two kids quesadilla meals.” All they wanted to hear was “quesadillas,” because their interrupting reply was, “Sorry, we’re not doing quesadillas.” My wife asked him why they were on the menu board if they weren’t available.” Long-story short, he failed to listen that it was a KIDS quesadilla, which they did in fact sell.
He then told us that each kids meal came with a side. We asked what our options were, and he said “Anything up here,” referring to the bar. Their menu board says that for their bowls/tacos/burritos & salads, their guacamole costs extra. We asked if it was extra to have guac as a side item for the kids meal. He was not sure, but when he asked his supervisor/manager, he didn’t mention that it was for the kids meal, and her manager was rude with her response.
We then told him that we wanted queso for one of the kids meal. Although not mentioned on the menu board, the manager/supervisor told us that it costed extra as well. We decided to go with it anyway. I had mentioned that this was our first time at Chipotle and they this wasn’t the best first impression, so now they know it’s our first time. Knowing that the queso was for a kids meal, they failed to mentioned that the queso was spicy and reconfirm that we would want it.
Both kids tried it and hated it — money wasted.
One kid got tortilla chips and the other got fresh fruit, which was an orange, but it was NOT fresh. My daughter bit into it and there was mold on the...
Read moreI came into chipotle on Friday, June 27, 2025 at around 12PM. I was very excited to get my food. Typically the employees are extremely kind and seem like they are having a good time. When I worked fast food I enjoyed it because of my coworkers and how much fun we would have. I have management experience in food, sales, and corporate. Usually when I come to this location everyone seems to be in a good mood. But when I came in Friday, things seemed off. They were all super nice to me and we had some small talk as they made my bowl. As I get down the line I notice a larger female standing between the salsa's and the cash register. She wasn't doing much just seemed to be standing there giving me and other customers dirty looks. She was just bossing around all the other employees (I guess her job is to be rude) I don't believe she is a manager as I hardly ever see her but any time I do it seems that she makes everything and everyone in the store stressed out and upset. To be completely honest it kind of ruined my day after seeing how she speaks to other employees and I believe she needs to be spoken to by a real manager. She also does NOT need to be STARING at customers as they eat. I was sitting at my table and every time I looked up this woman was giving me the nastiest look to the point that I left due to being uncomfortable. I think she needs to be spoken to and possibly reprimanded for her behavior. The food was great and the blonde girl and the girl on cash were amazing but this larger, white, female, with brownish hair was incredibly rude and disrespectful to not only employees but...
Read moreI was so excited to try this out, but I was immediately disappointed & redirected. Upon entry, I noticed the place was a mess. I don't know if it was a short staffing issue, but the dining area definitely had not been tended to. I overlooked it and proceeded to the ordering area. Because it was my 1st time in years, I needed time to look at what the options were. To give you the best visual without a picture, it was comparable to the worst cafeteria food you ever laid eyes on. Containers were either almost empty or mush. It was a mess. The server was welcoming. He did let me know I could take my time to decide. He also was nice enough to offer to have what was missing, cooked. I would've ordered, but he coughed into his hand, gloved, and never washed and replaced the glove, so we decided to leave. I did arrive around 3ish, so maybe that's not the best time. I will try to experience it again. Probably won't be this location. Hopefully, they were simply short staffed. The cleanliness of an establishment and the presentation of the food is important to me. The fact that he needed to cough is fine, but gloves should've need removed. Hands should've been immediately washed, and fresh gloves applied. Simple processes go a long way. The server was kind and thanked us for coming after we decided to go elsewhere, so the hospitality is there. I know the food case can get messy when preparing orders, but it should at the least be stocked periodically. Ill try again in the...
