Clementine's Naughty & Nice Ice Cream — Restaurant in Edwardsville

Tried Clementine's on the suggestion of one of my friends living in O'Fallon - best decision EVER! With some of the most unique and creative flavors I've ever seen, I knew we were in for a treat. I opted for two scoops - one of their Salted Cookies and Cream and one of their seasonal Sweet Corn. The former was perfectly nostalgic, filled with huge chunks of crunchy, chocolatey goodness, but with enough sea salt to balance the rich sweetness. The latter was one of the most fascinating ice creams I've ever had - deeply "corny" with sweet and nutty notes, with a wonderful savory quality from brown butter added to the sweet cream base. Even though we should give them a zero for leaving that sweet girl (Chloe) all by herself during a rush....but she managed it and kept a smile on her face! It was our first time in, so we are glad we got someone like her! She not only didn't mind us getting samples, but still made us both the delicious selections we chose. I picked a cold brew float with one scoop of Italian cookie and one scoop of espresso royal. Southern Illinois has marked positives like low cost of living and open spaces, but really lags IMO in civility. Major problem with drugs and raging rednecks. Clementine adds a bit of art to the area, and helps people to contemplate the sublime.

Rather than rage impotently. Directed at the real perps would be great but, alas... their control is too simultaneously subtle or ironclad.

Granted, it's pricey. Quality of materials and personnel reflects it though. Worth the occasional try for...
