95 South Southern Cuisine — Restaurant in El Paso

It was our first time at this restaurant today. We really liked the experience. I ordered the meatloaf and some mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fish, mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. The food was really great. The mac & cheese is amazing, and the cornbread was delicious too! Just know, the servings are very generous. You will get very full. We both ate quite a bit, we were beyond full, and somehow we still left with what I'm sure are at least 2 full meals. 3 meals, actually, because we tried the soul food menudo and even though I couldn't stop eating it, I still had enough to take home. Ms. Dee is such a pleasure!! Ms. Dee we left your restaurant so very full and very grateful. Thank you so much! I also ordered a banana pudding. I am still so full right now, that I haven't been able to eat it, but I am more than confident that it will be amazing as well. I cannot wait until tomorrow to try it. I learned that next time, (and there will be, many a next time), my husband and I will have to share sides. Seriously... they are big portions :) So if you are craving a home cooked meal, definitely, you should...

Too expensive and the fact that you gotta buy each side made no sense. The Oxtails was fried and the portion was small and it doesn’t come with rice you gotta buy that as a side. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Mac and cheese was not on point. It could’ve been whoever was cooking🤷🏽‍♀️Slap ya mama chicken had too much sugar it was too sweet but was ok. I will say the Owner had great southern hospitality. I’m gone have to try some other dishes. Everyone can’t make good pig feet but I wanted some. I throw down in the kitchen and was craving some bomb Mac n cheese. It was under cooked some of the shells not cooked down. You just don’t do Mac like that. I thought the Greens was gonna be real greens not out of a can but even out the can it can be finessed. All it needed was some good cooked down smokes pork or salted pork. The oxtails was good but not enough flavor. That was about a month ago so hopefully they stepped their game up. Do not waste your time coming here. We waited 3 hours and didn't get any food because we got up and left. Kept getting the "food will be right out" for 3 hours. Really, we should've left after the first 2 hours but we felt bad because the owner was nice... Last straw for us leaving was some guy who works there walked in with a bag and then it sounded like they started cooking. Nice people but they have absolutely no clue how to run a restaurant. Would not recommend to anyone. If you're really going to tell people AFTER they've been there waiting hours, that they can call hours ahead to have food ready on time, that's unacceptable. Will not be returning. Ain't no food worth...
