Walking into Morra Mía, the atmosphere is the first thing that stands out — and in the best way. The decor is colorful, lively, and full of character, creating a cheerful and fun environment. The bar, located in the center of the space, gives off laid-back beach vibes, and the surrounding TV screens offer some casual entertainment that adds to the vibe without being too distracting.
However, the music was a major miss. It was overwhelmingly loud for the time of day, making conversation nearly impossible. On top of that, the playlist didn’t match the ambiance — it leaned more toward club-like tracks that weren’t family-friendly, clashing with the otherwise inviting setup.
As for the service, it was a highlight of the experience. Our server was friendly, patient, and accommodating throughout the meal — a definite plus that helped balance out some of the other shortcomings.
Now to the food: we tried the enmoladas, tortilla soup, shrimp tacos, green enchiladas, and a couple of desserts. The enmoladas had potential, but unfortunately, the chicken inside was extremely dry, and the tortillas were overly thick, soaking up all the mole sauce. I had to ask for more sauce to make it palatable, which I was surprised to be charged for. The other dishes were better — the shrimp tacos and enchiladas were well seasoned and satisfying.
Dessert was underwhelming. We opted for the chocolate layered cake, which had an odd texture — part moist cake, part tres leches — but lacked flavor. Not something I’d order again.
One small but annoying detail: the salsas come in small containers that make it difficult to dip a chip. It almost feels intentional, like they’re portioning the experience too tightly, and it takes away from the casual snacking vibe you expect with chips and salsa.
Overall, Morra Mía delivers on ambiance and is a decent spot if you’re mainly looking to hang out, have drinks, and enjoy a vibrant setting. But if you’re coming specifically for the food, it may not be worth the trip — especially if you’re looking for quality over Instagram-worthy surroundings. The music and a few key food missteps make it hard to fully recommend for a...

Party of six for dinner. We had a surprisingly short wait. The ambience is a weird mix of laid back dining and... well... they were blasting Spanish/American hip hop/pop on the big screen over the bar. Nothing like a little Sean Paul and tacos, right?
My food was good... Tacos Alm-something. My only real complaint—other than the fact that I didn't get any fries when the online menu mentions "more fries" being an option (which implies there's a normal fries option included)—is that it was very, very dry. Sour cream would have been perfect, but I had to settle for some of the spicy avocado stuff that our chips came with.
I'm not what the point of those two giant, undercooked onions were—other than to take up the space where my fries could have been—but they were too hard to eat or even cut with a knife.
The chicken nachos (not pictured) had very little chicken to them, but were otherwise ok.
The three sauces that come with the complimentary chips are very good, and not what you'd expect just looking at them. I just wish they had given us more than three little baby cups for a table of six people...
The candles and the mint water was a nice touch, except for the black leaves. Still... didn't kill me, and it tasted good. They have regular water as well, though one of our biggest complaints was the fact that we had to repeatedly ask for ICE. Then they finally just brought out cups of ice to pour our warm water into...
Also note that the menus here are annoyingly vague and not worded very well, and I'm fairly fluent in Spanish. One of our party wanted a burrito, and we had to guess that "burros" meant "burritos" and didn't mean we were about to eat a donkey. No...
Read moreFirst time customer. The renovations they did to this building are great. Very beautiful inside, modern, and clean. This is not your traditional Mexican restaurant from what I experienced eating breakfast there. I had their Chillakillers, which was delicious but very different. It was a twist on traditional chilaquiles, but they were in a mole type sauce, they had chorizo and a black bean paste as well w/cheese and some cilantro garnish. Very tasty! Most of the plates don't come with eggs or your traditional sides. You have to order that separate. So I added 2 eggs and breakfast potatoes. All and all the value for my meal was not bad, it was very filling and tasty. I apologize for not taking pics of the actual food, my bro has the green chilaquiles. Those come with chicken but he ordered them plain, those did look traditional. The plating is different, both orders came in big round deep bowl. He ordered 2 eggs as well and said overall everything was delicious but he would have preferred a more traditional breakfast plate. I must say I would have as well, I would have liked the chilaquiles with perhaps a side of refried beans and maybe some hash brown or breakfast potatoes. But I'm sure they were not going for traditional when they designed their menu. Not giving them 5 stars because overall the wait for the food I felt was a bit long and several times a member of management it seemed and also perhaps one of the owners or investors would go around asking the tables around us for their feedback and if they needed something but not us 2. Not sure why, i can only assume. I did not get to see their lunch or dinner menu but I'ma say that I would give this place a try again to check out...
