During my recent visit to Cheba Hut Toasted Subs, I was both impressed and left wanting in different aspects of my dining experience
I Enjoyed Ambiance and Theme ! The art displayed is awesome. Cheba Hut's engaging and relaxed atmosphere is immediately noticeable. The Friendly Staff was a great plus. The employees at Cheba Hut are commendably pleasant and efficient. Despite a bustling environment, they maintained professionalism and friendliness, making sure that orders were accurately taken and promptly served.
Now for areas of concern...... The most glaring issue I encountered was the pricing. Spending $82 on subs, regardless of their uniqueness or quality, feels excessive. While I understand and appreciate the creativity and quality ingredients that go into each sub, the price point is significantly higher than what one might expect or be accustomed to in a casual dining setting. A 4inch sub just shy of $7 is a bit excessive. A peculiar inconvenience was the placement of the drink fountain behind the counter, which diverges from the self-service norm found in most establishments. This setup necessitates either flagging down a staff member for refills or waiting for them to offer. In a dining culture that values autonomy and convenience, this approach feels unnecessarily restrictive and leads to more interactions than some customers might be comfortable with, detracting from the overall dining experience.
My Cheba Hut Toasted Subs experience is marred by high prices that might deter frequent visits and an inconvenient drink service setup that could disrupt the dining experience for those who prefer a more autonomous approach. While the establishment has much to offer in terms of creativity and ambiance, these areas of concern could be significant factors for customers deciding whether to return.
I most likely will not return because it was quite the trip. I attached the receipt for clarification on pricing.

Read moreCheba Hut was a great stop on our visit, and completely unexpected!
The theme is very much weed/munchies, which isn't really my thing, but the theme was done well, the place is clean, the staff was very pleasant, and the food came out fast and high quality.
We got a the Thai Stick and La Canna (teriyaki and italian). The names of the subs are cutesy and in line with the theme, but I'm really glad they put the type of sub next to it, cause otherwise it would've been a pain!
The Thai Stick was flavorful and had some unexpected veggies, but they worked super well in the sandwich. Teriyaki? Yes. Pineapple? Yes. Pickles?..... interestingly yes. Worked super well. Very pleased!
Lady got La Canne, the Italian sub. Had pretty much everything you expect from an Italian sub, including olives, pickles, high quality meat, etc. Super delicious.
Also got pretzel bites. Perfectly done! The drinks and munchy bars were also excellent.
It may sound simple, and it was! But like this place, simple done right really shows the quality and attention to detail.
Well done, Cheba Hut. We're now looking to see if one is near our...
Read moreI have been to this cheba hut about 16 times since they opened hoping that my problems with them were a fluke. They weren't. Here's what I've experienced:
I'm diabetic and can't have certain things on a sub that I ask to be removed - they NEVER follow the instructions, it's always wrong and I have to send it back and wait the long wait again, EVERY TIME.
another trip I witnessed one of the sandwich makers pick in the food and eat some while making a sub- that was disgusting.
All trips but one they make the sandwich with 1 piece of meat on each side - a half a tomato on each side, a little lettuce, one very small pickle spear on the entire sandwich and smother it with mayo and that house dressing - this is pathetic considering how expensive these sandwiches are.
Do yourself a favor and go to the other sub shops around town that have no problem giving you a decent amount of ingredients. (Jersey Mike's, subway, etc.)
To the owner- don't bother asking me how to make it right, I've been enough times to see you aren't doing anything about giving people their money's worth...
