Pros: The red salsa that comes with the tostadas is VERY tasty. I think it's meant for shrimp cocktail; if not, it should be. It would be delicious. They kept the tostadas coming until our food arrived. One extra star for the tostadas and salsa.
That's all I can say that is positive.
Cons: it took about 40 minutes to get our food. There WAS a very large group before us, so I'm not deducting a star for that, but MAN... came in very hungry and had filled up on chips before I saw my burger.
Our waitress didn't ask how I wanted my burger cooked, so it was very well done. Some places won't serve a medium burger, but it should mentioned be on the menu and they should have some idea how to keep a well done burger moist. It was dry, cold, and flavorless. It came with a roasted toreado, but they must have rolled it across the pan once, because it was mostly raw. I added red salsa, which made it worth eating, but after a few minutes I realized I was eating to finish my food, not because I was hungry or because it was good.
My wife had tacos pastor. She found many chunks of solid fat. I tried the tacos and they were better than my burger. Still not good, but not bad. Mostly just bland.
My daughter had chicken nuggets, which were cold when they came. I think they had been prepared fresh right after our order and sat waiting another 35 minutes. $10 for cold chicken nuggets, seriously?
My Dr. Pepper first came out tasting really funny. I figured they used an off-brand or something, or served me diet Dr Pepper. They replaced it with real, normal Dr Pepper.
Overall, it was barely mediocre food, served cold, with less than impressive service, at a price that had me expecting great food and service. We all came hungry, but none of us finished our meals or wanted to take home what was left.
Then I noticed that they also charge a 4.5% fee if you pay by card. At their prices, they should be paying the transaction fees, and the highest fee I've seen anyone charge has been 3.5%. I think they're just padding their margins by charging their customers higher fees than the credit card networks charge them.
After tip (I always tip unless the service is genuinely BAD and it's the waitress' fault) I paid $63 for a burger, chicken nuggets and tacos pastor. I could go almost anywhere else and pay under $50 for better food, served hot and...
Read moreOverall, I wouldn’t return for dinner. It was ridiculously expensive for nothing to be honest. Would not reccomend.
We had ordered 2 old fashioned, 2 sushi rolls, a burger, cheese crusted shrimp tacos and oysters.
The first old fashioned I had received was made with like orange pulp? I had mentioned it tasted weird, but it was whatever, still drank it. Then the second one came out with full on orange juice, so I sent it back. The remake was correct and was really good.
We had ordered oysters as an appetizer, which didn’t even come out until after our food. They did tell us initially it’d be a 10 minute wait because they were frozen and we agreed to wait, but that was well past the 10 minutes. At one point we even said we didn’t want them anymore, but they eventually were taken care of. They ended up not being my cup of tea, but may be someone else’s. My husband didn’t even try them.
Although, I understand this is not a sushi place, the advertisement and the presentation are there. It was some of the worst sushi I had, but my expectations were not high. Rice was soggy, cream cheese was just like squeezed on there like a log so all you tasted was cream cheese, and everything was mushy.
My husband got the monster. Burger was dry. Everything was dry on the burger. There was no “sauce” to pull it all together. Could he have added something, yes, but the burger itself doesn’t have a sauce to go with it. He literally was dipping it in the sushi sauces.
I had gotten the cheese crusted shrimp tacos. They were really good, just again, dry. There was no sauce or pico or any sort of spice pulling them together. Could I have added something, yes, but per the menu it didn’t have anything on them. I use the salsa that came with the chips, which was alright. The charro beans were okay.
Our server was great, she got everything we needed, refilled our drinks, took our orders when we were ready and helped us along. As I stated, the appetizer took forever and the food took a while to come out as well. Our drinks came out quickly though. When things were wrong, they were fixed.
The atmosphere was loud. I didn’t know what to expect, as we had never been here. They had a live singer, she was great, but just during dinner rush I would have liked to hear my server talk. Other than that, the atmosphere was fine...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place after seeing the pictures on social media. The reviews were ok and only 3.8 stars, but decided to give it a try. Atmosphere was fare, very dark over the tables, difficult to read the black menus in that lighting, music a little loud. To start we ordered the Melted cheese with green Chiles. I asked the waitress what type a cheese they use, she responded, "mozzarella ". It definitely was not mozzarella, but moving on. I ordered the " Villa" which is a 12 Oz Ribeye, mashed potatoes, charros, 4 large gulf shrimp, guacamole, small salad w 2 bacon wrapped asparagus. It was almost $50, but I was sharing it so I was ok w that. I ordered the steak medium, which I usually ordered MED RARE, but I was sharing so went up in temp. When I received my meal the first thing I noticed was the shriveled up asparagus. It looked like they had been previously cooked and just reheated. The steak was cooked to med well, bone in, it was tough and grizzly, which is odd for a Ribeye. Normally w that cut its marbled, tender and flavorful. I didn't send it back because, although we were the only table in there, I didn't want to wait any longer for them to remake. The mashed potatoes were not fresh. They were reheated, dry and no flavor, I didn't even touch the charros. The shrimp were not the ones described and they gave me sliced avocado instead of guacamole. I didn't want to ruin my other guest's experience by sending anything back, so I just ate it. I was highly disappointed because their menu was extensive and I couldn't wait to come back to try their other dishes. I would definitely recommend training the wait staff on the ingredients used in their dishes and also if there were going to be substitutions, i.e. sliced avocado instead of guacamole and small shrimp, instead of 4 large gulf shrimp, they should inform the guest's. Possibly retrain the cooks on proper steak temps, the importance of cooking fresh and the impact reheating food has on the integrity of the presentation, as well as the food itself. My husband ordered the arrachera tacos. He liked them. The meat was...
