Don Carbon — Restaurant in El Paso

Don Carbon on South Desert Boulevard is a mid to small place but comfortable seating. However the food is absolutely exquisite I decided to get the #4 Combo Carboncito for $8.54 + tax. This combo consisted of two pieces of chicken with two side dishes I chose the macaroni salad and the charro beans and it also includes a drink. The two side dishes I got were absolutely delicious . The charro beans contains little bit of weenie a little bit of chicharron it may have even had little pieces of bacon, Definitely a must-have. They also follow up your order by bringing corn and flour tortillas to your table with a couple of salsa options, pickled red onions and roasted jalapenos. My favorite salsa was the Chile de Arbol it was absolutely. To sum it up the food was absolutely delicious, free refills on the soft drinks. His place was friendly and very inviting and even included televisions on the wall to keep you entertained. This place is definitely a gem you don't want to miss out on experiencing. My wife and I both tried Don Carbon for the first time and had differing opinions based on our meal choice. We were, "to-go", customers and immediately noticed that there was not any room in the facility for a to-go line to wait. Highly recommend calling and placing your order in advance. The options to wait for our meal were either to stand in an awkward place where you could guarantee you would need to step aside or steal a table from a potential dine-in customer. I particularly love burgers, and decided to try theirs (and yes I know they're known for their chicken, but the burger menu was just about as big as the chicken menu so it felt like a safe choice). The burger was dry and disappointing and tasted very similarly to something you'd find at a family picnic/festival. Would not recommend their burgers to anyone based on price:enjoyment ratio. I tasted my wife's chicken and it was very good and made me immediately regret my choice in the burger. She really enjoyed her meal, and would definitely have it again.

I went today the 29th of July, 2017 and it was my second time. I ordered a whole chicken and they gave me 8 pieces as it says on their menu board. The chicken is dry and the flavour is average or bland. I gave it one star because of false advertising. They DO NOT give you a whole chicken as advertised, they give you half of one breast that is cut into two pices.

Subway got sued for false advertising for the size of their sandwiches and Mr. Don Carbón should be very careful how they sell to the public the idea of a WHOLE chicken. This is the second time it happens to me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but two out of two is more than a coincidence.

Next time you go there, please look at your cut pieces and pay close attention to the body parts of the chicken as you will notice that one breast is cut in two pieces as to simulate two full chicken breasts.
