I have had poor to absolutely horrible experiences with Holiday Inn Express and made a vow to never stay at one ever again. I took my elderly mother to El Paso to visit family that was in town and they were staying at this particular HIE. Despite my best efforts to convince my mom to stay somewhere else, she insisted we stay at the same hotel as our family members. I'm glad I listened to her because our stay was exceptional. Not only was the hotel well maintained, both public areas and the room, the staff was one of the most professional, courteous, and helpful I've come across in a long time.
I booked a handicapped suite and when we checked in I was shocked to find out it was on the 4th floor. I've never heard of such a thing before staying here, usually handicapped suites are on the ground floor in my experience. I'm sure for most people this is not an issue, unfortunately for me it could have been. My poor mom is absolutely terrified of elevators. Once I checked us in I told mom to get ready because we had to go up to the fourth floor. Once we were in the elevator, as soon as the doors closed it didn't really feel like we were moving. Next thing we know we're at our floor. This was the smoothest elevator ride mom has ever experienced. This is the first time that I can remember that I didn't have to hold her hand or soothe her during and after an elevator ride. Can't tell you how much this made my day.
I do have just one suggestion. There were only 2 small trash cans in the room, one in the bathroom and one by the desk. We could have used one more by the sink\refrigerator area. I had dinner in the room with mom and our visiting family so when we were done we had a large bag of garbage left over. I took it down to the front desk and asked the clerk if she could dispose of it. She took it from me with a smile. Unfortunately I cannot remember the young ladies name right now, just ask your clerks which one got a slice of cheesecake from a guest and that's who it was.
While I can't say for sure that I'll stay at a Holiday Inn Express, I can say that next time I'm in El Paso I will definitely be staying at this property again. Keep up the good work and thank you for making a stressful trip a...
Read moreThe way I wish I could give this place a zero star.. first I want to state that this hotel is NOT CLEAN at all.. me and my husband checked in and went straight to get some food (we had drove into El Paso from San Diego for the night and had more traveling to do the next day) so we didn’t get to see the room right away, after we got our food we came back to the hotel and hurried to get changed into some more comfortable clothes as soon as we pulled the covers down it immediately revealed what seemed to be dust that seemed like it was there for awhile and lots of hair everywhere. The entire room had dust everywhere and you cannot set your own temperature in your room the thermostat is locked so on top of it being very messy it was also very hot in there.. I then went down to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room they then took the keys from my previous room and gave me the keys to a new one as soon as we had walked into the new room me and my husband were very unpleasantly greeted by another guests personal belongings. I was furious at this point went back down to the front desk explaining what had just happened at first it seemed like she didn’t believe because it shows that the previous guest checked out of that room she greeted me with an very horrible attitude the whole night and by far this was the worst experience I had ever had in any type of hotel I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not spending any of your money here it is not worth it spend a few extra bucks a couple more miles out and get an Hyatt or a Marriott because sleeping in dust and walking into another individuals personal space is most definitely not worth whatever you will be paying here. This just 100% shows me that they don’t put maids to clean up the rooms once guest leave the most they probably do is fix the bed and throw away some trash. Do yourself the favor and...
Read moreCurrently staying in RM #314, and the mountainous view out the window is absolutely stunning!! RM #314, along with so many others, is clean and well maintained by the due diligence of the cleaning crew. I’ve never had a such a young and vibrant woman so willing to answer so many questions and supply the guests with what they need at that current time of day from her cleaning supplies. This hotel visit has been the best one I’ve ever had in my entire life. From the views, the rooms, and especially the staff! Speaking of the staff, when you first walk into this hotel you are greeted by the happiest workers I’ve seen in the hotel industry. Neomi (or Naomi), is the sweetest and kindest person I’ve ever met in my life, our first night as guests we had an incident occur in our room and she leaped at the opportunity to help us with the incident and offered us more help should we need it. But let it not be said that I forget about the others who have already done so much for us while we have only been for one night. Caring, inviting, not afraid to extend a helping hand, and most importantly their customer service skills are off the charts. This hotel offers so many amenities that others do not much like their indoor heated pool with is well maintained, the very clean hotel gym room, a washer and dryer should you need one on your travels, an ice machine on every floor, and a breakfast that is kill for! (Especially, the biscuits and gravy). Overall, we are enjoying our stay and I recommend that you highly consider staying here should you be in the El Paso area for any event. (Side note: I’d like to publicly thank Ms. Neomi (or Naomi) for the help she offered us, I’m pleased to know that she was there and was so willing to help us out.) ;) Written by Ben...
