After brunch I wanted something refreshing to drink. We stopped off at and looked for various locations, but we finally stopped at La Michoacana Plus.
The service was quick and I was able to get our order not even two minutes after we ordered it.
I ordered a pepino-limon and my daughter ordered a dragon fruit (pitaya) agua fresca. It was what I needed it to be, and it was refreshingly cool and delicious.
My son enjoyed his takis-locos, which were dressed with nacho cheese.
This location has plenty of space and plenty of options. They have paletas, ice cream, shakes, fruit cups, and others. It is very convenient and close to where I live too. Also, they have a military discount. If you pay with cash you can save, but that is becoming rare these days, no? Plenty of seating, and little kids are lucky to have a mini playground inside too.
It shares a giant parking lot out front with other stores like a laundromat, cell phone shop, and others.
Cool place to hangout...

Unfortunately, the corn in a cup was a letdown. If you're expecting true Mexican-style elote, this isnât itâit just didnât have the same authentic flavor or texture.
Also, the kidsâ play area could really use some attention. Thereâs a clear sign saying no shoes allowed, but no one is supervising it. Kids are constantly running around with their shoes on, and the floor was noticeably dirty. It just didnât feel clean or safe.
Lastly, the staff wasnât particularly friendly during our visit. No one was rude, but there wasnât much warmth or hospitality either.
There are some great items on the menu, but the overall experience could be a lot better with some basic...
Read moreGood: The ice cream tasted good. The employees were very friendly. It looked like they were working really hard. They have a play area for kids. They have a large variety of ice cream flavors and Agua frescas.
Bad: The Horchata is very watery. The prices are much higher than other places in El Paso that have better desserts. The La Michacana on Mesa and Tepalca are cheaper and better. The employees were very friendly, but are still in training so it is very slow. They did not know the answers to many questions... including ice cream recommendations. They have a bell that they ring at the register when someone leaves a tip, which can make people feel obligated to do so. It's hard to put so much emphasis on paying more for already overpriced food. That can make people who do not want to or cannot afford to tip feel...
