IHOP — Restaurant in El Paso

I went in today for Veterans Day with my husband and daughter. It was busy and I did take that into consideration when writing this. The food was fine and the atmosphere was loud but there was nothing really anyone could do about it since it is a holiday and there were a lot of Veterans getting their free breakfasts. All of that being said though our server left much to be desired. Initially everything was fine she came to the table and took our drink orders and my husband had asked for a coffee and a glass of water. When the drinks came out we all got our drinks but my husband’s extra water. We let it slide as it wasn’t that big of a deal and ordered our food. My husband got the veteran special, I ordered the pumpkin pancakes breakfast and my daughter the eggs benedict . She had asked if we had wanted toast on the side since my meal nor my husband’s included it and I had initially asked for sourdough but it wasn’t available so I said white was fine. When our food came out everything was brought out but the toast. She said it would be Putin a minute but she asked if there was anything else we wanted. This is where it went downhill, I took a minute to think as I was honestly a bit overwhelmed with the noise to see if there was anything else we needed because I didn’t want to have here coming back and forth since it was busy. This obviously annoyed her because she ended up just giving me a dirty look. Once I asked for butter pecan syrup and butter she quickly left. She came back a few minutes later and just dropped it off. We ate our food and after we were done I had mentioned the toast never came out and my husbands water while she was nearby. Within 5 minutes there she was just dropping off a glass of water no apology for forgetting or anything and still no toast but at this point I was full so I didn’t care. We continued to talk for a few minutes at the table and then she came to drop off the check and asked if we needed boxes. I needed one just for my daughters food and she said she would be back with it. I went to the restroom for a 10 min and when I came back she still hadn’t dropped off the to go box and was just interacting with other customers near by. At this point my husband is also noticing what’s going on. So I just politely asked a server nearby if she could just bring us the box instead. The server obliged and went over to the back. Within 2 minutes our server came out instead with the box and the receipts and with an attitude looks at me and says “Anything else??” . The service my mom and i received today during lunch was not the best. Our waiter whose name I believe is Jaime, as it was on the receipt, did not provide the best customer service. During our lunch, he was very rushed and seemed to want to get us in and out. He took our order, we ate but not once did he come and check on us compared to the way he checked on his 2 other tables next to us. He would go to their tables and ask if they needed something else but with my mom and i, he would simply pass by and look at us without any service. The only time he would ask us is when he brought us our food and our first drinks we started with, never in-between. we finished our food and waited for him to ask us if we wanted anything else because we wanted to order pancakes for dessert but instead he just came with the receipt when we didn’t ask for it. so my mom told him we still were going to order more and he was kind of surprised and said “oh you’re not ready?” if he had bothered to ask us questions during our meal he would’ve known we weren’t. as well as i had finished my drink that i had and i wanted a water instead of a refill but he brought a refill and slammed it on the table. Since he hadn’t come to check on us i had no opportunity to ask for a water before that refill. we got our pancakes and when we were ready to check out he didn’t have the best attitude and felt that we were being rushed out. he checked his other tables with respect but with my mom and i, he was very different. in-between finishing our meals, we had to wait quite a while for him to come to us, when it wasn’t even that busy. definitely won’t be going back to this location. it also appeared that when my mom told him we weren’t finished and he went to place our pancake order, he seemed to whisper something to his coworker because she looked back at us after he said something and we were right near where they...

I absolutely love IHop but the service is not what it used to be. I am currently facing some food sensitivities so I cannot eat any dairy or gluten without facing some costly health issues. I asked for decaffeinated coffee because caffeine effects me as well unfortunately. She brought me regular coffee. When i asked her if the pitcher was decaf she hesitated to answer and instead looked at her notes to ensure she answered me correctly. So, i didn't drink the coffee. When I placed my order the waitress seemed very careless about my current dilemma but I still had hope. The app and website stated there was an option for dairy free dressing but the waitress said all their dressings had dairy in them. I was extremely disappointed but i proceeded to place my order: a berry chicken salad with lime on the side. The waitress came back with a plain grilled chicken salad. No berries. My son has a food sensitivity to dairy as well so he asked for no cheese on his hamburger but they still added cheese to his meal. Waitress came and went like nothing. The restaurant was half dead and she was nowhere to be found. When she finally came around she was very surprised when i asked her for my berries. I expressed how disappointed i was since they could not accommodate me with decaf coffee, dairy free dressing and then they forgot my berries on my berry chicken salad. Instead of just bringing me the berries she removed the salad from our order. I would've preferred excellent service rather than get a free meal. The food options are fantastic and the food is amazing! Their service has gone down tremendously and management seems to be absent! Wish they would stay more on top of their staff to ensure excellent service is provided. Then negative reviews like this one...
