Ok, for starters, I wasn't a fan of the decor. I couldn't figure out if I was eating at Bubba Gump's, Joe's Crab Shack, or a Chinese Buffet.

Nevertheless, my husband and I decided to give them a try.

Inside, we were greeted and seated promptly. The servers were friendly and gave us prompt attention. Our food came out fairly quickly. So quick that by the time I got out of the restroom to wash my hands after ordering, my order was already on the table.

We tried the white tuna, salmon, and eel sashimi. Out of the 3, I'd have to say the salmon was the most decent tasting.

For appetizers, I ordered takoyaki, and my husband ordered the salmon tataki. The takoyaki had a bit too much of the batter and not enough octopus. It needed a little more time in the fryer. The batter tasted a bit undercooked. The salmon tataki, however, was pretty good, according to my husband.

For the main course, I ordered the hibachi steak and salmon. I would have preferred not to have the teriyaki sauce over my dish, so I'll have to remember to request it to be put on the side the next time we come back. That's IF we decide to come back.

We ordered some nigiri and rolls as well. The rolls were cut too big for my taste. The Philly Roll cream cheese was overpowering, and the rice was also too much. Both the nigiris and the rolls were underwhelming, but for El Paso, I think it sufficed. There aren't really many places here for good sushi.

They do not offer half rolls, so I was disappointed about that. It kept me from ordering all I could eat because the rice was too filling.

For dessert, they only had vanilla ice cream available. No mochi or tempura ice cream, which was also a big disappointment. Dessert was kind of the deal breaker for me.

I think the only saving grace for LA Sushi is their fast and friendly service, which is a rarity in the Asian F&B culture.

All in all, it was a heartbreaking experience. I wanted to like the place, but having lived in the Bay Area and Las Vegas, I have some high expectations. But for El Paso, I guess this place...

I'd been looking for a place to have some snow crab and whole shrimp. Found this place on google with great reviews so we decided to try it.

When we entered, we were greeted by a woman who directed us to our table. The decorations are great! My kids liked it a lot. The waiter was a gentleman who was patient with us; we were kind of a mess getting our orders straight so, we really appreciated that.

The restaurant itself is exceptionally clean and well-kept, we were surprised that there weren't more people there. When we arrived, there were about two other families seated: not including us.

Once the food was brought out, the portions were really generous and, omg, it smelled so good. My son ordered the chicken ramen. He wasn't too hungry but that was ok. He ate what he could and told me that the noodles and broth were great. The only issue was that the chicken was a little too overcooked. Regardless, it tasted delicious.

I ordered a bag of whole shrimp, my other son ordered the crab cluster and headless shrimp, and my husband ordered the steak bag. A good mix all around, I think. Each meal comes with corn, potato, sausages, egg and broccoli. I'm not one for eggs, sausages, or broccoli so I subbed them for another potato and corn. My husband said his food was DELICIOUS. He had his medium spicy so I didn't bother to try it but I trust his taste buds. My son loved his snow crab. He became full almost immediately and couldn't finish all his food...which I attempted to eat more of. It was a lot.

Update2: meant to do this a while ago. Oops. Renewed my stars for service and overall rating. Have been back several times since the last update and have not seen previously mentioned waitress. Have seen several new hires and they've all been great! Original staff are still as friendly and on the ball as they've always been. Food is still great!

Update: menu has changed some, food is still great. I dropped a star in overall rating and dropped service rating as low as I could and still have it count. Last two times we've gone, we've had the same waitress. She argued with us about a now off menu item we've had no problems getting before instead of just asking a manager or chef if they could do it. We ended up getting the item when I guess she asked about it or made a comment and was told they'd do it. Has forgotten items and gotten items wrong. Pretty sure she got a lousey tip due to this last time (someone else paid) because when we visited today and paid, she picked up the check, stopped and blatantly stared at the bill, reading the tip. In front of us. Who does that?? And on top of that, she then proceeded to, I assume, complain about us to the blonde haired waitress/hostess while we were leaving - at least if her tone and pointing at our bill that was still in her hand was any indication. We will still return for the great food but if they sit us in her section again, we're moving.

Visited a few days ago, plan to visit soon. Food was, overall, very good. There was one miss with a sushi roll, the yum yum, I think? Or the TNT. Hubby said it had no flavor. I asked twice for "oil fish" sashimi - first time I didn't get it, second was given octopus. That and the roll are my only reasons for not giving 5 stars but, again, it was overall very enjoyable and good food. Killer price for what we got and we will...

I recently visited LA Sushi & Hibachi All You Can Eat in El Paso after seeing some tempting photos online of seafood dishes like lobster and crab. As someone who just moved to the area and was seriously craving seafood, I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, when I got there, I found out those photos were old, and those specific items weren’t currently available. That was a bit disappointing and definitely confusing for a first-time visitor like me. Suggestion: They really need to update their website and online posts to reflect what they actually offer now. It would help manage customer expectations, especially for new customers who rely on online info to decide where to eat. That said—I don’t regret going at all, because the sushi was absolutely delicious. Super fresh, well-made, and full of flavor. My son ordered the All You Can Eat Crab Sushi and asked for 10 pieces—he was in sushi heaven! If you’re really hungry, that all-you-can-eat option is a great deal and gives you a lot of variety. So even though I went in hoping for lobster and crab legs, I left happy because the sushi more than made up for it. I’ll definitely be back—just hoping they refresh their online presence so others don’t get confused the way I did. If you’re a sushi lover, Hibachi Sushi is worth the visit! Just go in hungry—and maybe don’t believe everything you see online until they update it!
