I thought it was extremely pricey for my skirt steak, which is not a real steak, but a thin strip like fajitas, and at least fajitas are sliced and grilled. This wasn't sliced and it was very thin, so it was strange cutting into a very thin steak with a big knife, and it had the tough veins that I had to pull out, like fajitas do, but fajitas are better because they're sliced and grilled to be enjoyable. The potatoes were cut big and loaded with too much marinade. They were soft not crispy, not amazing. The veggies were just ok, basic chopped squash/ zucchini with mild taste. One piece had part of the stem. The avocado relish on top of the steak was basically a very chunky guacamole but not as delicious. The appetizer tostones were not crispy, but very soft, and they were made with overly ripe plantains, so they were too sweet and brown for my expectations on tostones. The rabbit meat that was paired with the tostones was shredded and placed atop in a bunch, which was a strange combination. It tasted like brown meat turkey, nothing amazing at all. The casear salad was probably the worst Caesar salad I've ever had because of its strange taste, nothing like a Caesar. The lettuce was chopped up into very tiny little pieces which is strange for a Casear, and while it was hard to see in the dark, I could see some pieces of lettuce were brown and wilted, and the parmesan was not quality cheese; it was sprinkled from a shaker! The lettuce wasn't cut big, light and airy like a good salad but rather chopped up tiny and compacted that I wondered how long it had been sitting in the kitchen, settling and getting old, acquiring that strange taste. I can't ever understand why restaurants local to only ELP always serve a substandard dish and overcharge because they get...
Read moreHad dinner there for my wife's birthday. Food was great ($$) and the service was equally great. Atmosphere was very nice. For an older building, it was very comfortable and relaxing. Slight drawbacks: since it's a "downtown" restaurant, very little street parking. If you can find it, I was told that you don't have to feed the parking meters after 6pm. 👏👏👍👍👍 We ended up parking in a small "pay-to-park" lot due to our full size van, but only a block away. Other minor disappointment: alot of restaurants will give you a free dessert or the staff will sing "happy birthday" to the birthday person. When I called earlier in the day to confirm our reservation, I mentioned it was my wife's birthday, and asked if they did anything like that. He said, "Yes sir, we can bring out a piece of cake for her." Okay, that sounds good. We had brought small birthday cupcakes for our guests anyway, and one for my wife. When it came time to pay for the check, I asked the waiter if they were going to bring out her cake (or dessert), and he said, " Oh, no sir, I'm sorry, but we don't do that." He continued, " that's why I asked if if anyone wanted dessert so we could put a candle on hers (my wife's)". Hmmmm... okay, no problem. Maybe next time, I think all the staff should be on the same page. Even one of our guests had mentioned that they have done this for them. This was a minor issue...no worries. Will we come and eat here again: absolutely! Looking forward to trying some of their...

I travel frequently and I have to say this might be my favorite restaurant in all of Texas. I don't say that lightly.
If you have an oppurtunity you must visit the Park Tavern. Everything from the atmosphere (laid back and fun but at the same time has an air of refined) to the drinks to the staff and especially the food is top notch!
I didn't catch our hostess's name, but she was pleasant and efficient.
Our waitress was Chelsea, she may actually be the best waitress in all of El Paso. She is energetic (in a easy going non-overwhelming way), happy, and knows her restaurant through and through. If she gives you a suggestion on any of the food TAKE IT! She knows her stuff and will absolutely make sure you enjoy your meal.
Everything here is delicious. T The drinks are well made and consistent and worth exploring. I can't remember the bar tender's name. But she is an artist.
Dinner is great (I've had the lamb and the elk and I can't tell you which is better because they are both amazing). The deserts in the restaurant are worth the trip alone. In fact after a horrible meal at another restaurant nearby my group saved the evening coming here for desert.
Have the bread pudding. Trust me. It needs to be submitted in some kind of desert contest, it is stunningly good.
Love your restaurant. I will be returning to El Paso just to...
