Very fun & eventful place for the kids. Wonderful learning areas that are exceptionally educational.. But the reason for my low review is because of the staff in the robotics/3d printing area.. The male thats the guide in teaching the 3D printing classes is unprofessionally rude.. Now, the entire museum provides education areas that teaches the kids different subjects.. We visited each individual area & although we have a 5 year old, our 5 year old is interested in learning..
We stopped into the 3D printing/robotics area & saw the 3D printers.. Saw a few robotic sculptures in the room & was interested. I have a background of taking courses in robotics & wanted to look around. The area was open & usually with these areas, the guides stand around, will teach you different things.. But the male guide, stood there talking to his female coworker, watching us & i assumed everything was fine for us to look around.. which we did we walked around, i was looking at the 3D printers & he walks up next to me to ask if i knew anything about 3D printers, which i said "No, just curious" & he seemed bothered by me touching the machine & said "do you know how to use one" Vaguely i do but i said "not really" & he said "Ok well these are $1500 machines, So.. if you dont know how to use it, i recommend not touching it".. The way he specified the price, as if for one i was going to break the machine, two as if i couldn't afford something of that price.. My car/home/Aviation engineering schooling & the planes i opperate & work on is worth more than that & his entire demeanor was disgusting. Even after his rude comment. I continue to pursue our interest in the robotics courses they provide & he instantly said our child would not be welcomed in the class & implied the area was closed & we needed to leave.. Even though it was fully open & other people were around.. I was not forcibly touching or destructing the machine, i simply touched the opening of the door to see the inside & this guide was just being unnecessarily disrespectful.. he could've simply showed me how it turns on, how it works etc but he just instantly started being pretentious & presumptuous.. If they are working in a childrens museum, i expect better influences & educators. Better attitude & not someone that acts irritable towards people.. Even afterwards, making me feel unwelcomed to the area because i was curious of a 3d printer, is absolutely ridiculous.. This specific individual needs to either be retaught on how to do his job & better customer service or simply find a job that doesnt include...
Read moreSo many great things to say about this place, including offering low admission for families with snap/wic benefits. What would be $74 for 2 adults 2 kids will be $17!! They also offer memberships! I think it's worth it if you'll be going often. I'll try and break it down. Parking on the street or across the street in a parking structure next to the stadium. I paid $14. Short walking distance from parking. A police officer at the entrance and walking around. You are allowed to bring your own snacks/ drinks. Very clean restrooms. About 4 levels. Men and women restrooms on each level including large family restrooms. I'd recommend taking an extra pair of clothing/ sandals. The water play area is amazing and the kiddos are likely to get wet. As well as parents. 😁 they do offer thick plastic full length "aprons". But I think they limit full interactive play due to the stiff & heavy weight for the little ones. They have side rooms adjacent to the main play areas on each floor. They have more activities (interactive) and stem classes. (Sciency stuff) I saw middle school aged kids really enjoying those. There's a rock climbing wall (not very high) that my kids enjoyed. So much to explore it's difficult to name everything. I'd go in the morning or early afternoon to take advantage of being able to stay until closing and see everything. I don't know what food, snacks, and drinks are offered because we brought our own. The shop they have is a little pricey. (In my opinion) Babies to about middle aged school kiddos will enjoy this kids interactive play and educational museum! I'd say fun for the whole family! They also have wide stair cases and large elevators for wheel chair accessibility. I saw a few areas that were tailored to kids in wheel chairs but I don't know enough detail to speak too much on that....
Read moreI’ve been sitting on this review for a week. I took my 2 yr old daughter here and unfortunately it is still incredibly disorganized, the employees are pissed off and rude, and the patrons have ZERO respect to the environment.
When we got there, there is a line for online reservations. They made me scan QR code after QR code. The employee was visibly annoyed that I didn’t know what to do. Keep in mind it was our first time here. If I have online tickets that are paid for, then why should it take 15 mins for us to go in.
The toddler section is connected to the mom toddler section so it was a little confusing. One employee, Sandy was super sweet. But an older lady was super rude to another lady in the sand section. The girl at the water center was so grumpy that kids were even scared to talk to her. I don’t know if there was a staff meeting before their shift and everyone was in trouble but even the girl at the music section was so grumpy! A few other moms and I were saying that it’s such a shame because non of the employees seemed open to being there.
Now the patrons- THIS IS NOT A DAYCARE OR A PLAYGROUND! Please watch your children. The amount of parents ignoring their horribly behaved children was astonishing. Kids were breaking things left and right, pushing the littles, ripping things from employee hands. Please watch your children. I don’t want El Paso to stop bringing nice things to the city just because the patrons are rude and disrespectful.
They also need a different exit from the entrance! There was a crazy traffic jam of people between the sliding doors.
Either way, this place is pretty good as a museum. It’s beautiful and I really hope they fix the issues that are keeping this place from...
