It was Friday, it was around 1:30PM, we walked in, looked at the menu, figured out what we want to order, walked up to the counter. A male employee walked over, got behind the counter and at that very moment, the phone rang, he said he would be with us just a second and started taking the phone order.
He walked away from behind the counter when he finished taking that phone order, walked over to the kitchen area.
Few minutes later, he returned and went straight over to a female who just walked up and asked if that female were picking up an order. He went and took care of her. To that lady, he was probably very attentive since she was in and out within minutes, while we had been standing there at the counter for close to 10 mins. He said thank that lady and came over to the section of the counter we were standing at.
Think he start taking our order? Think again. He started doing things on the computer, mumbling something to himeself. I got so uncomfortable and frankly, it was just weird he was mumbling to himself as if I wasn't there in front of him, I had to take a few steps away from the counter.
After he got done with the screen, he finally turned his attention to me.
I don't ask for much. I am perfectly okay with you not saying hi to us when w first walked in, go ahead, give me a few seconds to browse your menu. But after that, he should have put that phone on-hold, afterall, I got to the counter before that phone rang, he should have told that lady who was picking up her order that he would be right with her.
I am doing my best not to think my ethicity have anything to do with him ignoring me.
This wasn't the first time I order from this Pei Wei, but this visit sure will be my last. And please don't get me start on the little paper signs they had all over the little wall that dividing the kitchen and the dining area, they were covered in grease, food and other things that I couldn't tell you what they are by just looking at them...no, I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole.
And since I am whining and complaining, I might as well add in this part...where is my sauce for the chicken...
Read moreI was promptly greeted and felt welcomed. My order was taken quickly and accurately. I asked the cashier if the lo mein included onion and was very knowledgeable about the food. She told me it did and automatically excluded it from the menu. She gave me my receipt and small cup for my drink. That's where the niceness ended. After getting my drink I sat down and waited for my food. A few minutes later , maybe 5 minutes, I get my food. It's hot and smells incredible. The server though didn't appear to want to be there. Without a single word just kinda pushed my plate towards me and took the table locator and left.
The lo mein looked really good. Huge chunks of chicken and noodles looked appetizing. The vegetables were cut very small though so they tended to fall to the bottom of the noodles so a majority of my food was just noodles and chicken. The texture of the noodles was very good. Firm bite yet tender and not chewy. Great flavor in the noodles. Chicken was bland and the mushrooms didn't really lend any flavor to the fish. Bell pepper was also a decent texture just cut very small. The sauce was not my favorite. When I think soy sauce i imagine something more saltier not semi sweet like this was. Overall the chicken lo mein was above average in my experiences. Great portion for the money paid though. Gets you full without being that bloated full like some places.
I will give this place a second chance but probably will not be ordering the chicken lo mein again. There are however a lot of options. I'll sum up the customer service as a bad day. The employees seemed preoccupied 2ith something going on outside which must have been a secret since myself and other patrons did not see anything. A 4 overall due to lacking customer service on the servers side and the 2nd coke machine was down and the line at the only working machine was...
Read moreCustomer service has really declined over the years, but I want to share the exceptional service I received at Pei Wei. I go there at least once a week and usually order the same thing. Marco, the cook, already knows exactly how I like it. Every time Joseline sees me, she greets me with a smile and confirms my order with the cook. However, on one particular day, they weren't there. Esther was at the register, and when I asked if Marco or Joseline were there, she told me no. I explained that they were familiar with my regular order, and without hesitation or judgment, Esther quickly sprang into action. She called Joseline to ask how to prepare my meal, even though I didn't ask her to do this--she simply took the initiative. That day, Delilah and Andres were the cooks, and they prepared my meal exactly how I liked it. I could tell they did it with care, without hesitation or judgment. They truly took care of me. Rosa, the GM, mentioned that everyone should learn how to make my order, so no matter the time of day, any staff member would be able to accommodate me. That's excellent customer service.Even though Josh wasn't there that day, he plays a big part in why my family and I will continue to return. Thank you all for your dedication to providing such wonderful service!
My husband and I recently visited Pei Wei and were thoroughly impressed with the new staff. Josh, who took our order, was exceptionally welcoming and made us feel at ease with his friendly demeanor. He was attentive and understanding, accommodating my specific requests with ease. Additionally, Rosa was also very welcoming, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. Overall, the excellent service from both Jonathan and Rosa made our visit enjoyable. We look forward...
