Peking Garden — Restaurant in El Paso

At 3pm on 09/15/2022, I ate at Peking Garden. I ordered the Lunch special, $6.95 plus tax. Drink doesn't come with the meal--I went with unsweetened tea which had good flavor. Total cost w/drink & tax, about $10. Lunch special was decent chow. Got the 🍋 🐔. Came with 🥚 drop soup. Fried rice or 🍚.  The smallish eggroll was warm and tasty but was the size of a shotgun shell. So, it should be renamed and called an Eg-rol, not a full "eggroll." Waitress was qwik & attentive. I got 4 tea refills without her making a face; she showed up twice w/o me having to flag her down which I appreciated. The restaurant was warm, but not awfully hot. The entré choices for $6.95 [really $7] were not too shabby. I would go again, but just for lunch. The ambiance is bare-bones. No music but a tela-novela was on the TV towards the back. The front flat-screen was off. My soup and meal arrived within a reasonable time. The fried rice was satisfying and not too salty. This was my first time at this location.

I ordered the Egg Foo Young, Lo Mein w/Beef and Hot & Sour soup. The soup was good, but our entrees were extremely salty. I only had water to drink so I had nothing to balance the salt. My mother had a soda and the food was still too salty for her. I tried eating the Egg Foo Young without the sauce and that too was salty. So, I opted for the Lo Mein and that too was salty. After a few bites of trying to eat, we just couldn’t. I normally don’t complain, but I was hungry and brought it to the attention of the waiter. She politely apologized and went back to the kitchen. I don’t know if she spoke with the cooks or a manager, but she came back to tell me that they told her, “That’s how the food is”. I paid my tab and left to another restaurant. I put in an order through grub hub around 6:30. The tracking option kept saying estimated delivery between 7:30-7:40. Almost 8, no delivery. I called the restaurant, the woman said yeah it's out for delivery already you should receive it any minute. 8:30 comes around, no delivery. I called again, same woman calls the driver and the driver says yeah I delivered it. Umm what? He delivered our food to the wrong house. The woman on the phone asks me if I still want the food. No apologies, no nothing. They didn't care. She told me she could have it sent out again in less than 20 minutes. 20 minutes pass, no food. I call again, she tells me the same thing, it's out for delivery. We finally got our food at 9 at night, 2 and a half hrs later. Delivery driver didn't even care. Rude people that don't care. The original Peking garden on trawood, never had an issue there. I will never deal with this...
