Pollo Feliz, sigh, if only you lived up to your name because Pollo Infeliz would be a better brand name after the continuous experiences I’ve had here. First off, don’t even dream of coming here anytime an hour before they close, 30 minutes? Forget about it, you’ll be lucky if anyone comes to the window to take your order, much less they have anything since, as far as I can tell, if they don’t feel like serving you, they’ll just either ignore you or lie to you and say they’re out of anything you ask for.
Secondly, stick to take out if you’re absolutely positive you even want food from here. Eating inside comes with its fair share of challenges, from how the place smells overall (strange mixture of food, fabuloso, and dirty water last time I was there), to the constant hunger games you’ll be playing with the army of flies that’ll constantly be swarming around you trying to get a taste of what you’re eating, and finally, to just how sad and bleak the overall feel of the place. Seriously, the dead chickens being cooked seem to have more character and be more lively than anyone working there or eating, really, it feels more like a vigil for the poor pollos than a dining experience.
Thirdly the food……..when I say hit or miss, I mean it as hit next on your options and be ok with missing out. Joking aside, the food can be all over the place, the rice can be either Al dente, salty, mushy, or on rare occasions, just right. The nopales, sad. The corn, sad. The macaroni salad, meh with salt. The chicken…….sigh, what should be your signature thing is more of an afterthought, much like any semblance of flavor you may or may not get out of it.
I’m no business owner, nor am I savvy to the inner workings of one, but if some common Joe like me can tell there’s something seriously, seriously wrong here, why couldn’t the owners whom I’ve personally seen there, while all of this is going on, flies running crazy, the smells wafting and permitting everything, soda machine with things that could, if anyone cared, be sodas and not cough syrup. Seriously, if the managers and/or owners show so little care for the place, then I can understand why the staff that they have couldn’t give two flying flies about the food, the work they do, and are reduced to nothing more than soulless drones working away for a paycheck and...
Read moreI was excited for the opening of this place . But if I had seen the tables before I had ordered I would have left . The lobby was not clean, restrooms were nasty af. The tables were dirty. Chicken grease all over the tables and chairs . Napkins and trash on the floor. They weren’t busy so there was no reason for this . I mean it’s not like if they were short staffed. There were 3 managers and a lot of staff behind the cashier. One of the managers a man tall skinny older looking sitting in a dirty booth on the phone . I mean anyone can tell how dirty this place is . He should have gotten a rag and cleaned wiped down the tables . He even took a picture of the staff … pretty sure the flies came out in the picture 🤣🤣. All 3 what looked like managers were very unprofessional. They just stared and never greeted us . The big build woman manager the other man with black thick glasses too. I didn’t get names no name tags either. Very dissapointed. The only good thing was the pickled lime red onions 💯. Y’all need to clean this place up. Don’t waste yalls money . Just stay home and make your own...
Read moreExtremely Disappointed with Burnt Chicken Order. I recently ordered from El Pollo Feliz and had a very disappointing experience. The chicken I received was completely burnt, to the point where it was inedible. The outside was charred and bitter, and the inside was dry and flavorless. It was clear that the food was overcooked and not prepared with care.
I expected better quality, especially given the restaurant's reputation. The sides were also lackluster—cold and seemed like they had been sitting out for hours.
To make matters worse, when I contacted customer service to address the issue, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. No offer for a refund or replacement was made, which left me feeling completely undervalued as a customer.
I’ve given El Pollo Feliz a chance in the past, but this experience has made me reconsider ever ordering from them again. Save your money and time—there are much better...
