I’ve been coming to Saigon Taste for years. Unfortunately though, the food quality and taste are not consistent. I had just been there on 10/17/24 with a friend and ordered the Crispy Sttuffed Eggplant and the Com Cary Chay and both were delicious. The eggplant was crispy and light and the curry was packed with flavor.

Yesterday, however, when I ordered it again both did not taste the same . The eggplant was not crispy at all as if they were thrown in oil that wasn’t hot enough for frying. The curry was watered down and didn’t have any flavor at all! I tried to liven up the flavors of the curry with chili oil and salt, and still no flavor. My friend who ordered the same soup added tons of fish sauce, chili oil and salt and said it was “ok”. I refused to eat it, knowing darn well this was made incorrectly, again, based on previous experiences.

So, like any other reasonable person would, I told the waitress what the issue was and asked if I could replace the meal since it did not taste good. Mind you, the waitress already seemed depleted from what probably was a busy Friday…after my request she told me she needed to “ask”. She came back and said the chef said that’s how it’s always made and pretty much gaslit me and knowledge based on my previous visits. She didn’t offer me another menu to choose something else and after I told her I refused to pay for something that was not good she just walked away.

Obviously there is a cook who knows how to prepare the meals correctly and one who doesn’t. I will not take my chances next time and just go somewhere that consistently has good food and even greater service. That was my last time at...

My experience at Saigon Taste. I walked in with my sister for dinner we waited by the door for about 20 minutes before we had a server come and ask how many were in our party and where we would like to sit. Mind you there was about 6 empty tables that were dirty. The server said she would clean a back table for us. We stood there for another 10-15 minutes during these few minutes I and many others in the restaurant noticed one of the waiters seemed to have killed a cockroach that was on the with a white rag that seemed to be the ones he was wiping tables with. I am not sure of this but this is what I suspect since we were finally seated behind the 3 women that seemed to have pointed it out. As we were seated I was able to overhear the 3 women discussing with the waiter on what had happened at this time I made eye contact with one of the women and she nodded "no" to me as her and her party proceeded to walk out of the restaurant. I believed they only tipped the gentleman and refused to pay for their food. We were asked for our drink orders twice by two different waiters and never received our beverages. The floor underneath our table had food and dirty napkins from the people that were seating there prior to us. The waitress also wiped our table down with Windex. Yes, Windex nothing like risking contamination of ammonia in our food, followed by having an employee spill dirty dish water on my back and jacket. at this time we had decided to get up and leave the restaurant and did not order any food. It seemed like an episode of...

Been going there for many years and never had a issue with food....Went with my family on Friday and ordered the usual charbroiled pork vermicelli with veggies, which was awesome as usual except this time it came with a prizeee apparently. Got a splinter stuck in my tonsil! For a bit i thought it was food stuck. As i left i was gagging and trying to figure out what it was, as i was driving off. Once i got back to work which is 4 min from there i noticed after a while trying to see what it was.. it was a splinter stuck in the middle of my tonsil. I advised the manager Ken immediately and of course did not take responsibility of it. After explaining it to him like 5 times, cause he did not understand english apparently. Not even a apology from him. Very unprofessional for being the manager. Heck the servers are polite compared to him. I told him it was clear that i got it there and that they needed to be more careful. If they are using wood spoons and what not. Maybe a chopstick for all i know. Still till this day i have not received a call from owner..Can not believe the way they handled this being a usual customer for the past 6 years. Careful...

Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was a bit slow but customer-to-staff ratio was on high side, so maybe service was fast. Current prices are up from those on website; they look to be $1 all around. Entrees serve more than one. I forgot Vietnamese restaurants offer family-style portions. Another memory this place brought back are the 80s and 90s club music that they play. My Pho Ap Chao was flavorful and very crunchy. Soaking the noodles in the sauce tamed the crunchiness. The squid was brought later in a separate dish because they were left out. Thumbs up for staff because I didn't even notice.

This is my favorite place to find good Vietnamese food on the westside. Prices are reasonable and food is always good and clean and well-prepared. I'm a frequent visitor and so far have not had a bad experience. Seating can be hard to find during the lunch hour, though. Very clean and usually a quieter place. Although last visit, there was slow service despite it being somewhat empty. Otherwise, a great place to go for your classic pho or other favorites.

What happened to their eggrolls? They are the size of crayons and obviously Sams Club quality. They used to be regular size and very appetizing, but I heard it was under new management since last time I was here. Mostly breading that flakes apart and little filling and very dry - you will need some extra water. Pho Tre Bien on I-10 is MUCH better with awesome eggrolls, lower prices and bigger portions. No more Saigon Taste for us.
