Tacotote! — Restaurant in El Paso

This used to be one of our favorite places to go and its changed for the worse. They completely changed the interior design to make it look like some kind of generic coffee shop and removed all the personality it used to have (they used to have this fun mural that made me so hungry for guacamole, now they're just grey.) We were greeted with a very blunt "are you eating here?" Our food was just dropped on the table with an attitude. The chips, which we used to eat in heaps, had changed and were now dry. I didn't have any tacos because I'd already eaten but my family said they were still good, hence two stars instead of one. It was also incredibly hot the whole time, my dad had to leave and sit in the car because he was sweating. Eventually we found out they were closing at 9, even though it says on here they close at 10 and we had checked beforehand so as not to be rude. I guess that explains why they were so rude to us, but it would have been nice to see the hours updated or to have a warning that they closed in less than an hour. On the way home my dad mentioned this was the worst part of his day. We won't be back, which is very sad because this has been a family favorite since...

I am not one to go out to eat but I wanted to have a farewell meal with my mom only to not do so. We never received our food. We literally just came here to sit on their booth for almost an hour. We left without any food and out of money as well (refund 5-7 days). There was no apology or accountability; just some dismissive remarks (cashier)"well order 46 is not here" and (manager) " I sent order 46 a while ago" it sounded as if they were insinuating that we wanted extra free food. We were patient but almost an hour seemed a little too long for fast food. Initially when approached with the situation, I wanted my order to go because I wasn't sure if it was just forgotten on the counter then we changed our mind to want to cancel the order instead. When asked if that was it, if they were just going to send us on our way (no apology, no estimated time, no reason for the delay) they acted like it was our fault that we didn't get our order "we were going to give you your order but you wanted your money back" well duh we are not waiting another hour for 2 tacos a side and nachos. Never coming back. This is a reminder of why I rather cook my food which is what I ended up doing...

I never do these things but I feel it is necessary this one time. I’m a nice person and do not like to give bad reviews but I got sick from eating from this place. I ordered an order of tacos of tripitas and I asked for them to be crunchy but not EXTRA and they came basically burnt. Like a chicharrón consistency.. I did not take it back because I also work at a restaurant and I did not want to be a complicating customer. we also ordered 2 barbacoa tacos I ate one and idk from What but I got very very sick. I believe it was from the tripitas because I was the only one who ate those. Plus the girl who ringed us was very very rude.. I was being nice I was just asking questions and trying to make it easier on her as well. Im probably never going there again.. I’m very disappointed because every time I would go to that place I always had an excellent experience but not last night. I am more disappointed at the fact that the food they gave me which I actually payed over $40 for made me SICK. It is important to know how to handle food specially if it is being served...
