I’ve been coming here for about 8 months now every time I’m home from the oil field, thank God they finally opened up a location just a few minutes from my house! I was a bartender for 16 years in some of the best local clubs and ultra bars and “game recognize game” as they say and I just wanted to leave an honest review for the evening staff here. Every time I go in, James Boulden, Bryanna Williams, Victoria Perales, Angie Sariñana, Sofia Berumen, and Joey Armendariz all make me feel warm and welcomed and they treat me like family every time I am in there! Sadly, I rarely ever get to see James, but Joey in particular, that guy is amazing! It seems like no matter where I turn to in the bar, that guy always seems to be there either taking someone out their food or order or he’s behind the bar slanging drinks or he’s changing the tv for someone or etc. It’s like he’s the energizer bunny, go, go, go! He reminds me of myself when I was that age, honestly, he might even have more energy than I did. If I ever decide to open another bar, that’s the guy I’m going after to try and steal him away to be my bar manager because great employees like him are very hard to find!! He gets along great with everybody and I have never seen him mistreat anybody; he always has a smile on his face; and I’ve never heard anybody speak poorly of him nor the other staff members that I mentioned. I even told Geske, about a week ago about how amazing Joey is. Keep up the great work guys and gals and thank you for the 5 star VIP treatment! Maybe you guys can have, James, work in the evening more so that I can see him more often. I don’t want to leave anybody out, I’m sure that your day staff is just as amazing as your all state varsity evening staff, but I don’t day drink so aside from, James, I don’t really know any of them. I always sit at the bar so I really don’t know many of the waitresses and there’s 1 or 2 other female bartenders that also treat me nice but I don’t know their names and the barback kid that I see also is...
Read moreI had never been here and it's only two miles from my place so I decided to pop in on a Sunday night to watch Chicago Bears - Houston Texans. VERY nice looking bar with big screens everywhere. I was alone so I sat at the bar. I don't drink so had my usual iced tea. I was in the mood for something healthy so I had the Geske's House Salad ($7.25) and added Ahi Tuna for $9.50. This $16.75 salad was worth every penny! Mixed greens including spinach, bleu cheese, cranberries, balsamic vinaigrette dressing. A cut above what you can get at the average sports bar. Everything was very fresh. The tuna was done sushi style, raw but perfectly done, very tender, and a generous portion. The all-female bar and wait staff are all very cute and attractive. My bartender was very attentive, right on top of things. All that being said, the atmosphere really turned me off and that probably has a lot to do with the fact that I will be 70 years old in only 4 more months. Very loud background music with a huge drum machine........and to me, very annoying. Look, I'm an old rock 'n' roller. I saw Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath in 1971 when I was 16. But I do not appreciate being blasted with loud, shitty music when I'm trying to relax, have dinner and watch a game. One of the bar staff was literally YELLING to a patron, and not because she was pissed off..........it was the only way the customer could hear her with the huge background noise. This is just not my kind of place.......but again, I was easily the oldest person in there. I guess a 20's and 30's crowd is into this type of loud atmosphere but it's not for me. The next time I go to a sports bar it will be my usual hang-out here in El Paso where the food is just as good but they don't blast you with loud and...
Read moreWell, it started off rough. I called to see if I could reserve a table. Was told yes, of course, let me put you on hold.... waited 8 minutes on hold and finally hung up. Called 9 more times and couldn't get through to anyone. Still decided to go anyways, we did find a table. The server tried her best but was spread thin. She was still able to do a great job considering her situation. Really wish there was more help or a manager would step up. We ordered the Union Nachos to begin with and it was pathetic to say the very least. Ended up asking for more "queso" (horrible cheese, nothing comparable to queso) because our $11 Nachos had more lettuce than cheese. At this point, I was getting upset because I'm pretty sure a manager was the one who delivered our Nachos and he didn't take a second to make sure the product coming out was up to par. When we got our order placed, it came out pretty fast and was delicious. Was very happy with the food, service and speed of everything after that. The atmosphere was great, we went for the Gold Cup Championship.
Side note: when ordering chicken wings they go by the pound. Now obviously I don't carry around a scale to measure out how many chicken wings it takes to get a pound but in my case it was 6 wings for $16 which is beyond expensive! That price is only the wings, no fries. Still tasted great, I did expect it to be way hotter since on their heat scale it was towards the bottom which is suppose...
