Bowlology — Restaurant in El Segundo

This place was a disappointment. My go-to acai bowl place is Healthy Greens in the Valley at Ventura and De Soto. I try to go there whenever I visit my parents, and I'll get their 32oz large acai bowl for ~$10.

I was stoked when I heard there was a bowl place in El Segundo that had 32oz bowls for the same price. I went in and their menu was maybe half the size of the menu at Healthy Greens?

The bowl I ordered is made with apple juice, and I asked what I could replace that with. The options were vanilla soy milk and chocolate soy milk. Really?

Even Starbucks and Jamba Juice have almond milk now. Or at least get plain soy milk.

It's also a bummer because it's situated in a very modern little office park. I'm sure the architects envisioned so many people hanging out to drink delicious smoothies and eat delicious acai bowls. There were lounge chairs!

But no, I can't in good faith recommend this place. It's a watered-down overpriced imitation of a smoothie shop that fails its...

The acai bowls are good but the service is horrible. One of the first times I came in the person behind the counter was on her phone texting while I was staring at her waiting to order. Today I came in and the only person working was sitting at the counter eating a subway sandwich. He stopped to ring me up but didn't put his drink that he was drinking down (barely spoke and not even a smile) then went back to his sandwich. Two female workers walked in and he asked them make my order and they argued about who was going to make it. The one who didn't make it sat behind the register on the counter and texted. I wish I could give them a better review. I was double charged on 2 separate occasions, so I reached out to the store manager as instructed by the staff. After a buncha back-and-forth emails and phone calls - most of which I had to follow-up on - the corporate office blamed a third party vendor and said there was nothing they could do. After a month of this I finally threatened legal recourse and the manager gave me a refund.
