We tried Thailandia in El Segundo for dinner yesterday and I already know weâll be back.
Itâs a casual spot tucked near Aviation Blvdânot on Main Streetâbut clearly a local favorite. Parking was easy, and even in the evening, the place was busy with a steady flow of regulars (including Thai diners, which is always a good sign!).
The staff were warm and attentive from the start. I ordered drunken noodles (vegetarian, abs no mushrooms or zucchini), and while my first plate felt a bit dry, the server insistedâvery kindlyâto take it back and remake it the way I wanted it. What came back was absolutely perfect: flavorful, saucy, and exactly how I wanted it. My husband ordered a similar noodle dish and loved his as well, plus he tried the Tom Yum Beer, a tom yum-inspired brew, which was good.
We also got a Pad Thai to-go for our daughter. It was made without bean sprouts as requested, but did include onions and tomatoes (not listed on the menu), so just a heads-up for anyone with ingredient sensitivities.
The service here really stood outâthey were gracious, efficient, and incredibly welcoming even with a full house. Everyone working there had a smile which made the whole experience feel genuinely warm.
Pro tip: the spice levels run high! As someone who enjoys spice (and is used to Indian flavors), even the 2.5 level was very hot. Iâd recommend starting with mild and adding chili oil later if needed.
Overall, Thailandia is a gemâgood food, good portions, kind service, and a neighborhood atmosphere that makes you...
Read moreI would like to point out that this cafe is for those who have never visited Thailand and have not tried its fantastic cuisine. We have been there five times. In Thailandia Cuisine we ordered Papaya salad, Tom Yam Kung soup, Pad Thai noodles and Pineapple fried rice. First of all - a complete lack of lime in the serving and in the taste of the dishes! The dishes do not have the inherent aroma of spices, they are absolutely faceless. Tom Yam is a parody of the original soup, just sour translucent water without the aroma of lemongrass, kaffir lime and coconut milk. Papaya salad and Pad Thai noodles are 3 stars. Pineapple fried rice was a substance that did not cause any appetite at all. It was served in a simple plate with pieces of pineapple. Whereas not only in Thailand, but even in Sacramento in a regular cafe they serve in half a pineapple. The chicken in rice did not taste like a dish, but tasted like it was spoiled and then soaked in bleach. Overall, the staff is friendly. However, the answer that customers do not like spices was disappointing. Where can you try authentic cuisine then? People come here only for this. Those who do not like original spices, let them eat plastic dishes from Mass Market. I will never recommend this cafe. I do not want to offend anyone, I am just expressing my opinion. Maybe my post will help the management to look at things differently and give people a true pleasure of traditional Thai cuisine. I sincerely hope...
Read moreI will start by saying that I usually avoid Thai food as it is usually way too much heat for me. My wife and I were looking at the menu posted outside the door and were about to walk away when their manager came out and asked if we had any questions he could answer. When i asked how spicy the fish was, he assured me it was not spicy. I was skeptical, but we decided to give it a try and was very impressed how clean and organized everything looked when we entered. The food was amazing. We shared a coconut shimp appetizer. My wife had Pad Thai, and I had the grilled salmon with mango salad. Everything had been so good that when the hostess recommended the sweet sticky rice with mango, I ordered one to share even though we were already overfilled. Everything was very flavourful. If I lived nearby, it would be a regular stop. The hostess, Honey, was excellent and made a great meal even better with her fantastic freindly service. Honey went above and beyond any expectations as after we left and were a block away, we heard someone call out to us and came running up to us. My wife said, "What did you forget?" but Honey decided we just had to try their Thai iced tea and had run with one in her hand. That is the customer service that is extremely rare these days. Honey, you are awesome. The Jasmin Thai Iced tea was very good. We recommend you give Thailandia...
