I was incredibly impressed with my experience while at Andy's for the first time. I came in early morning about an hour or so after their day had started. The staff, was intelligible and attentive, checking on my dining experience frequently. The lounge room overall was cleanly, presentable, and comfortable. They have booths, but I chose to sit at a chair/table set which was still comfortably upholstered.
The food I ordered was Coffee, an All-Meat Skillet with Cheese, Toast, and Over-Hard Eggs. I also ordered a side of Bacon. The skillet was absolutely delicious. Salt and pepper were on the table but I needed not pay it any mind. The meats and cheese were of good quality and blended their flavors well together. There was a crackle of black pepper in the mix with green peppers and onion that complimented the proteins very well. And the egg, was fresh and hot and kept everything in balance, flavor wise. Nothing was over seasoned. The Toast I chose with it was white and buttered and again, crispy, warm, and fresh.
The prices were fair and the staff was warm and inviting. The only suggestions I can make are the coffee and the bacon.
The coffee was not bad, about what you would expect from a small town diner. But perhaps a better flavored blend of bean. So many places choose to go cheaper on coffee and this is somewhere you can really, and I mean REALLY, stand out.
The bacon was slightly chewy. I understand some people like their bacon this way, but not everyone does. This was why I chose bacon, to see if I was given an option of crispy or chewy. Its a small thing that can again, keep the customer in mind, not change the menu, and only takes another minute or so for the cook. Those who love crispy bacon will appreciate this gesture, and will happily wait the extra minute or so.
Overall, wonderful! I shall return to try more...
Read morePro's - Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly.
Con's - The restaurant needs a good cleaning (sticky, grease in the air) and to be updated... some paint, handwritten notes taken off the wall, ceiling fans & flooring replaced, etc. Price was high for what we got. Coffee $2.50! Side of Sausage $4.99!
I personally did not like the food.
I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese. It came out 2 fried eggs with a slice of cheese on top! I had both sausage & bacon. Did not like the sausage flavor. Took it home for our dogs. The home fries was a blob of potatoes, grease & onions. The toast & bacon were good. Coffee cups were stained inside (looked dirty). It reminded me of Navy Submariners who never wash their coffee mugs.
My husband had the open faced roast beef. He said it was OK.
We left & our clothes/hair smelled of grease. Not sure if...
Read moreI've been here several times. I like their breakfast. This visit was specifically for their special on Wednesday's since my family member wanted to try out their stuffed peppers special (only on Wednesday). I got the biscuit with bacon and cheese, scrambled eggs with cheese, and crispy corned beef hash. I liked all of my food. I love that they have corned beef hash. My relative reallyyyyyy loved the stuffed peppers (hamburger, rice, and red sauce). She said she would definitely order it again. This restaurant is a favorite of my family members. I go here about once every three months. It is a local hotspot. If you love good country cooking then stop by. It isn't great for everything but they do breakfast well, the peppers, and fried chicken for sure!!! Great service all the time. Friendly servers. FYI - we usually seat ourselves....
