Martin's Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Elizabeth

I recently visited this food place while in the area getting my nails done, and I was intrigued when I saw it was open. However, when I walked in, the place looked deserted and not very well-kept, which made me think they might not have updated the establishment in years. There were plenty of seats available, but with only three other customers, that raised my second red flag.

I ordered the breakfast platter, which was reasonably priced, and took it to my car to share with my boyfriend before my appointment. When he went in to ask for a fork, as we didn't have one in the bag, the lady at the counter responded rudely, asking "For what?" She then argued with him, refusing to give him a fork because he didn't buy food from there. Even when he offered to pay for it, she still said no. She didn't know I was in the car and already purchased food.

The service was incredibly rude, and the overall hygiene of the place left much to be desired. I will never eat here again, and I truly don't understand how they remain in business with such poor treatment of customers. I would not recommend this...

My friend got a spicy beef ramen and I got a bento box with spicy tuna roll, edamame and some kind of pork with rice. I dont think I'd order the pork again but I like the other dishes. The service and food far exceeded my expectations of this seemingly run down mini-diner. The buttermilk pancakes wer fantastic but what was seemingly only $4.55 for pancakes and $1.50 for coffee turned into $11 when the bill came!
