Starting with the fact that they charge stupid amounts and still have the same carpet from 30 years ago, I was nervous as soon as we walked in. We ordered the cheese fries appetizer ($11), and we were sorely disappointed. They somehow managed to have both burnt AND soggy fries on one plate. I ordered a bacon burger, and my husband ordered a prime rib sandwich. My burger tasted like they took something that was not a hamburger and put fake hamburger flavoring on it. My husband’s $18 prime rib sandwich was a thin layer of meat with no sauce or toppings on basic, white buns. His mashed potatoes looked like insta potatoes mixed with cat food. They were the best part of his meal… Overall, we paid $55 and felt as though our waitress should be legally required to warn us of the damage to our digestive systems. I took a SINGLE bite of my burger and paid for that in the bathroom. My husband (who never leaves food behind) did not finish a single thing on his plate, and he also rushed to the bathroom as soon as we got home. We will NOT be back under any circumstance. Disgusting. I also watched a cook check his phone and with the same hand grab the good end of the tongs and then cook with them. Do you know how nasty a phone screen is? AND his phone was multiple generations old, so that’s years worth...
Read moreWe have been Raffertys fans for years. Moved to Elizabethtown and have had multiple bad experiences to include bad and inattentive bartenders to arrogant managers. We have been ignored by bartenders while sitting at the bar and we have asked to ensure our salads come first with eye rolls as an answer to no avail. Multiple eye rolls btw by bartenders seriously? Add our steaks overcooked. Well tonight my special needs daughter wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for their grilled shrimp. They had an hour wait. She didn’t want to wait. We came to Raffertys and we waited to get our order put in. It took a long time for our salads - there wasn’t anything cold on the salad. Blew it off. When our food came our medium steaks, ribeye and sirloin were extremely over cooked. My daughter s shrimp pasta was outstanding After the 2nd steaks came it was still not right. After the 3rd attempt the bald manager came out and blamed it on the marinade. Ummm hello the sirloin isn’t marinated. We are heavily involved past owners of and current restaurant managers. WHAT is going on in this store? ETown is a small community and the arrogance of this management team is well known. Is it busy? Sure! Is it an excuse to ignore problems ?...
Read moreSolid 4 star eatery. It reminded me a lot of a Cheddar's or Chili's. If you enjoy either of those places, you will like Rafferty's.
My wife and I arrived on a Sunday evening, and there was a short wait for the dining room. We had been traveling all day, so we chose to eat in the full-service bar area with no wait-time. There are a few bar tables, so we didn't have to sit at the actual bar.
The hostess was extremely pleasant and friendly. We are from out of state and she answered several questions and offered genuine feedback on several local/nearby attractions. The bartender was also our server. He did a superb job. Service was absolutely top notch.
The establishment was very clean. All staff were wearing masks, the tables were appropriately spaced, there was reduced capacity, and there were dispensers for hand sanitizer near the entrance. Rafferty's is doing everything possible to make their patrons feel comfortable during the pandemic.
The food was...meh. It was good, but nothing spectacular. I feel like the food a was a bit over-priced for what we received.
5 star service and 3 star food. That pretty much sums up our visit...
