It was our 22nd Anniversary and decided to try somewhere we have not tried. Pleasant atmosphere, a little too warm for me, but cozy. It seems like most everyone knew the owner or the hostess, which I'm guessing is the wife of the owner, lots of hugs to them both. Made me happy to know such a family friendly restaurant. My husband had the marinara linguine shrimp plate which was very tasty. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered an appetizer to eat for my meal which was calamari. I was impressed that they included real calamari on the plate along with the normal restaurant type calamari processed rings. Such a very tasty dipped that was included for me with lots of garlic which I love. I'm only giving four stars because the waitress who was a very nice smiling black american lady was so helpful and mannerly and pleasant in addition so were the young male waiters that would ask us from time to time if everything was okay and if we needed anything else, such great waiters and waitress. The lacking star that I could not include was because the hostess when we walked in wasn't so pleasant but she was mannerly, but a tad bit cold as if she had a strict demeanor about her, which made me immediately feel hum she was too busy or maybe overworked, idk. First time dinning here, so we will give it another try at a later time after we give Chasing and Tai Chili a first try....
Read moreOk I have a hard time giving a 5 star to a place that is classified as traditional Italian. So let's start with the greet. Was met by the owner who seated me and had a friendly convo like I've been there many times. Even though this was my 1st visit. The rest of the service team were fast and friendly and very personable. I started with the calamari appetizer and they were amazing. The fresh garlic on top as well as in the spicy marinara was just like I love. Fresh and has a kick to it. Then the Chicken Parmesan with pasta, Bolognese was very fresh with robust tomato flavors and a nice sweetness to it. Now for desert. Lots of places mess up with the cannolis this is hands-down one of the best cannolis I've ever had. Not too sweet, but very balanced. Worth the drive from Reno Nevada. The bar area a was seated I. Was very nice with a couple tvs where the owner and I watched some fights on tv. Over all this place is very good and you can tell it's family owned and operated. Even the chef who is the owners son came out to chat. I love that. Makes you feel like family and that is what makes a great...
