This was our first time to a Stagecoach (Elk Grove location.) It would also be our last. Before going we expected them to be busy. What we didn't expect was how we would be treated by Danielle. Upon greeting us and taking our name down she asked for my group size to which I answered with, there's 2 adults and 1 child. Danielle responded with a glare and said, "what?". I thought that was strange, but I quickly stated, there's 3 of us. Thereafter, I continued to think how odd an interaction that was, however minor it was at the time. They were busy and I happen to understand the dynamics of such a busy environment having been a director myself to a similar establishment. Having one set back was fine but things continued with other patrons involving the same person. It was obvious that she was busy but her frustration was clearly visible by having a poor attitude and being snappy to at least another patron. Shortly after we arrived, 3 other groups put their names down and we all waited. Eventually my name was called but immediately the couple that arrived after us gestured saying it's them. Well, that's ok, Tom is a common name so I could go next, I thought. This should've been a clue because we were a party of 3 and there was 2 of them. A few minutes later she comes back to take the another couple who arrived after us. At this point I knew there was something wrong but the couple being seated was a older veteran with his wife so I thought that was ok I'll just talk to her when she gets back. When she returned, she quickly greets another couple waiting and immediately said she could seat them. All while we were still sitting directly in front. Not once did she look back at us to realize we were still waiting and only focused seating from the list, even though a mistake had been made. There needs to be a level of attentiveness to patrons and her surroundings. At this point, my frustration was growing because of the lack of stewardship on display. I interrupted as she attempts to seat yet again another group. I stated that I had been missed a while ago and explained what happened. I stated how she has been rude to me and her behavior and attitude was completely unacceptable. I asked to talk to her supervisor and she responded with there isn't one available and when asked who the boss is she said it's her. She asked if I would like to talk to another supervisor, other than her and I said yes. She leaves but returns instead with a business card with only the owners name. Unless the owner also works at the restaurant, the information provided is of no use to me. We decided to leave and dine at another restaurant for which our experience there was much better. Because of how appalled my wife and I was, along with our young son, I've decided to share our experience. I will say, however, that my bad experience seemed to only be with this individual. I witnessed other workers who were much more exuberant and positive, affirming the other more positive reviews. I really hope this was just a bad day for her, but if her job is to be the first impression and face of this establishment, there needs to be some change. Our experience was unacceptable. I hope this gets to the owner and there's an appropriate response to...
Read moreToday my husband and I went to one of our favorite family owned places in Elk Grove.
He hardly ever orders something different from the menu. His favorite are pork chops and eggs or any of the omelettes. He is never disappointed with the taste of the food, the amount of the food or the service. Today he ordered a number 14 which is ham mushrooms and onions in his omelette with fruit and toast. He normally will have potatoes.
Today I ordered the loaded sweet potato vegan fries with homemade vegan chipotle sauce. This is by far the best vegan fries I have had. It was loaded with black beans, corn, onions, jalapeños, avocado, cilantro, olives and fresh homemade chipotle sauce. It is a real good amount size as well. It could of been used as an appetizer but I made it my meal and I’m so happy I didn’t have to share it with anyone. This is for sure going on my favorite food list.
The service was very friendly. The hostess was attentive, the busier came by and asked if we would like our plates removed ( which is nice most places don’t do that) our waitress was amazing. She knew the menu when I Had questions.

Read moreThis was a good little place to visit. I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a suggested location for a brunch. So I Google Mapped it and found that there were two locations. One in Sac and one in EG. The Elk Grove location was the one suggested so I plugged it in and off I went.
The parking lot was cozy enough. Plenty of parking, but not too much. The interior was warm and felt welcoming. I put my name in and waited the allotted time for a table. The staff were very familiar and that kept with the 'family' feel and atmosphere. I had the Ultimate Omelet, hold the mushrooms. And coffee. The wait staff were prompt and offered refills plenty of times. There was no rushed feel even though they were busy and had a little line.
However, when paying my check the two ladies behind the desk seemed more interested in chatting than customer service. They continued their chat while I was paying and barely glanced up in acknowledgment while I was standing there. Perhaps some customer service training or reallocation of responsibilities would help?
Overall I would suggest this place to anyone wanting a breakfast out and wants to break the cycle of the chain...
