Taco Bell — Restaurant in Elk Grove

I am updating my past REVIEW. I've now changed my one star review to a five stars. To be fair, that negative experience was the only bad one I encountered. I have had lots of positive experiences too. The last time I went inside the restaurant, the ladies bathroom was very clean and all of the supplies were stocked. I was impressed! Their food is consistently good and quick! PREVIOUS review : I'll start out by saying I've been coming to this particular Taco Bell for many years and have always had a good experience with good food. Not even close this time! I just went through the drive through here on 4/1/2024 @ 6:45 pm and ordered a crispy chicken taco and a cinnamon twists. I put one piece of the cinnamon twist in my mouth and it was nasty.. Tasted like it had been cooked in very OLD oil. I had to spit it out, it was so gross I couldn't stomach one bite. Errr I next took my first bite of the crispy chicken taco and all I got was 2 sides of a crispy tortilla. Zero meat! what!? I stopped my car and opened the wrapping up and there was literally like 1.5 tablespoons of chicken in it. GRRR I've had these chicken tacos before in the past 2 weeks and they had the right amount of meat on them, no problems.

So I immediately turn around and go back to the restaurant and go to the counter inside.. and I stand there.. and I wait a little longer... and a lil longer still... I can see the manager is looking right at me, but he continues with what he was doing and ignores me. Clearly, I already have my food and I'm back up at the counter needing assistance. I finally had to get the attention of another worker to ask for the manager. The manager tells me that amount of chicken is the amount they give,. I say BS. The taco is practically all tortilla and nothing else. It wasn't worth 50 cents!! He never apologized or acted like he genuinely wanted to make things right. Ugh. After requesting it, I did get refunded. And a new chicken taco in a bag to go, with... no napkins. So I go into the seating area to get some napkins but guess what?! The napkin container, which is the only one I could see in the seating area, was completely empty. No napkins. Surprise, surprise.. ((sigh)) I walked out. I wish I had taken a picture to post of the taco before taking it back. What an absolutely horrible experience at Taco Bell and I think whoever this manager is.. needs to have some serious training on customer service! He is horrible. I went to this establishment last week around 11 am. The lobby only had 2 people eating, and the drive-thru had about 3 cars. I went inside to sit down and eat. I waited 4 minutes before a young lady working there looked at me and said, "Can you order at the kiosk." I said no thank you, and I left. I am old school. I don't want to order at a kiosk. If I have to order from kiosk, I don't need it. I was very disappointed. I get it they don't want to pay employees $20 an hour so they have minimal employees. I think the customer should have a choice whether they want to use the kiosk or speak to a live person. I am young enough to use a kiosk, but i refuse to. What about our elders who have no clue nor do they want to be bothered with a kiosk. Maybe when these establishments lose enough customers, they will either hire enough employees to help the front or they will close! Not to mention, they mopped the outside and inside at the same time, so all the floors were wet along with...

This must have been the absolute best Taco Bell I have ever been to. The restaurant was spotless and well taken care of. The crew was friendly, fast, efficient and worked very well together. Service was excellent. My order came up very quickly after I had ordered it and everything was as I had ordered it, very accurate. And the food was excellent. I'm a bit of a fast food connoisseur (unfortunately) as my job leaves me little time for anything else, and when I say that they nailed it then they really did. Not only was the lettuce fresh, but it was crisp! You're lucky if you get lettuce that isn't brown or disgusting at most fast food places, but this place had CRISP lettuce! Amazing. As was my experience at this Taco Bell location. Every fast food restaurant should strive to be on par with this one. My hat is off to the manager and crew, a job...
