Absolutely terrible experience here I highly do NOT recommend this place to anyone. I had spent roughly $25-$30 on Mother’s Day for the family for food and everything had went fine until I did the survey and I go up to the counter and show the lady and the says before I can say anything “ you have to write it on the receipt” and I responded where am I supposed to find a pen and she says “I don’t know” and so I walk away and a very kind lady in the lobby let me borrow her pen and so I write the numbers wait in line and get to the counter and I ask she goes “what do you want “ and I said butterscotch plz and she said ok and grabs it and when I went to leave I had seen a receipt in the counter and I grab it (to take the survey FOR THEM) and she ripped it out of my hand and says “ you can’t take someone’s points that’s stealing that’s theft “ and I go whoa whoa I wasn’t trying to scan for points I already spent $30 today and got plenty of points let alone already scanned a receipt and she responded “I don’t care it’s stealing. So I asked for the receipt for my dilly bar and she says “no because it was free you don’t get the receipt to do another survey” so I said ok and walked away visibly upset about it. The entire experience made me hate this Dairy Queen, I would not recommend to anyone even Roger’s DQ is better and worth the 10...
Read moreI have to start by saying that a 1 star is a high rating. There is NO drive up. Only walk ins. I walked in to find one person at the counter. One person looking at the frozen cakes. Five people behind the counter. I walked up to a gal standing behind the cash register. When I did she turned around and started talking to a coworker. That went on for a moment then she walked away. No one behind the counter would even look at me.
When the guy finished with his last order he asked if he could help me. My response was someone actually works here. More then a few heads turned to look at me. I gave him a order for a large cone. Another worker brought it to me. It was melted down to about 2 inches tall. I asked her if there equipment was working right. She told me it was working fine.
At that point I'm done. If the equipment is working well then the management has the temperature set just cold enough to keep it together. It was dripping down the side of the cone before I got into the car. I was parked right outside the door and it was only 73°. Brings a hole new meaning to soft serve.
I have a picture of the cone but no way to share it. Isn't that nice for Elk River DQ. Next time I want a cone I'll go...
Read moreThe establishment is definitely in need of a makeover, but the level of service I received was above and beyond what I would have expected.
I originally went in to get a chicken strip basket with gravy and was informed that they ran out of gravy and you have to get there early if you want it. I made my order, sans gravy, and waited for my food as the lobby started to fill up with customers. They handed my food to me and I went home. When I got there I realized that I was shorted my chicken strips so I called them. At this point they were at a 1 star review in my opinion.
A man, who I assume was the owner, knew that I hadn't received the chicken strips I had ordered. I said that I could come back in about 5 minutes to pick them up.
When I got there I was greeted with freshly made chicken strips and a free Dilly Bar for the inconvenience. And, since I can't go into a DQ without getting my husband a chilly dog, I put in an order for one. The owner came to the counter and said that it was on the house. That gesture alone brought my rock bottom review up to a full 5 stars.
Nothing can compete with excellent...
