Went there Tuesday with an elderly friend. We were seated by a lovely gentleman who got us our menus and then went off to help seat others, told us our waitress would be with us shortly, a young blonde in a ponytail. We sat for just over 45 minutes and she never once came to our table. Never asked us about drinks, never introduced herself. Nothing. 2 tables were seated after we got there and a woman, who I assume was the manager came out 15 minutes after they were seated and asked them about drinks. My friend and I were not even acknowledged. No one asked us about drinks. It was as if we didn't exist even after making eye contact with a couple of the staff. My elderly companion is diabetic and after sitting for so long we couldn't risk her health to wait any longer and risk her health. Wound up getting up, leaving, and grabbing Arby's. Not a soul said a word to us from the time we sat down and were left with menus, to the moment we walked out the door.
I 100% understand slow service. But to not even be acknowledged once since being given menus is not excusable. I've been a waitress for 6 years and no matter how busy you are, you still say a quick hello while going through...
Read moreHad a delicious chicken strip lunch at Perkins in Elk River. It came with five large crispy on the outside and very tender inside strips. Complimented the meal with a large portion of rice medley and healthy helping of green beans with bacon. All were tasty and very filling. Would definitely recommend the chicken strip meal especially if you have a good appetite. That being said even though the meal was tremendous the service was perplexing. Had a waiter (gentleman in his 50's) who initially was fine. Got me some water and took my order. Once the food came he never followed up and when on my phone quietly slipped my bill on the other side of the table. Didn't ask if I wanted dessert, refill on my soft drink, etc. Not even a thanks for coming. Seemed that he interacted with some regular customers well but definitely not me. With road construction on highway 169 it's now more difficult to get to Perkins so you have to be ready to take detours. Great food, clean environment but somewhat shaky service made it a mixed result on my trip to...
Read moreWell... What can I say? It's Perkins. About the same as far as food goes, everywhere ya go. 99% of the time I go, it's for breakfast/brunch meals. The other stuff on the menu is just mediocre for me. I'm not a fan of all the frozen, or pre-made food just cause it's convenient for a restaurant. I'll never understand that mentality over fresh foods. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of this particular restaurant. There's rarely a wait time. The managers & wait staff have always been friendly & accommodating to us. We typically have a decent size group, or even if it's just my wife & I, it's always been great friendly service. That alone brings me back, even if it's not my favorite place to eat. The bakery stuff is always great too. One of the few places we'll go buy a whole pie for a family event. Even with prices going up on almost everything, ya still get a lot of food here. Other places ya notice ya pay more, for a lot less food. Just ridiculous. Now I want my blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, &...
