We easily we're seated in a booth around 7:10 a.m. this morning. Hubby and I typically go here or one or two other places Saturdays or Sundays for breakfast. The place was not very busy at this hour and our waitress came quickly to take your drink order with a pot of coffee in hand. She filled my husband's cup and I ordered an iced tea. She arrived back within a minute or so with my glass of iced tea. As a side note I will say that the owner George needs to consider getting larger glasses for Iced Teas, Water and soft drinks. Unfortunately I think this takes a lot of time and extra effort away from the waitresses and customer service having to bring extra glasses for customers when they are out. Hubby and I ordered our normal, his consisted of French toast and my order was an egg which they double so I get 2 eggs and sourdough toast. Our meal arrived within just a couple minutes With drinks our meal was just under $16 before tip. The waitresses are very pleasant and most of them interact with us because we are regulars. By the time we were getting ready to leave there were several people in line as it was about quarter till 8. This is a place you can typically be in and out within half hour to forty minutes for breakfast. They have a large room in the back for groups. I would however suggest calling ahead so they can have it prepared and ready when you arrive. They do get quite a few large groups on...
Read moreThe place was packed when we entered at just before 9am, and even when we left, just before 10 am on a Sunday! The interiors are nice and our server was very sweet. I ordered the idaho potato pancakes, and it was not upto my expectations... If they were freshly made, they would have tasted so much crunchier and nicer, but I believe they were frozen a dundee seasoned... So, did not like that part.. and it was served with apple sauce and sour cream... the hot chocolate was from a power, and I got a decent size lump in my mouth when I was sipping from the tea cup (the cup was also chipped). Though the whipped cream gave a nice presentation:)
My hubby ordered corned beef with 2 eggs, and he got four egg yolks (I just told him he got lucky coz he got two twins!) And Texas toast:) his corned beef was okay, and yolks weren't seasoned, he liked the Texas toast because it was slightly toasted... But it was alot for one person to eat... Overall, food would be 2.5 stars, service and ambience would be 3 and 3.5 respectively. But I'm certain, I will return to give this place another shot and go with something more normal, like belgian waffles:) there's plenty of parking outside, and seating inside:) no wifi I believe and restrooms are at the entrance. And you pay at the counter after eating. hope you enjoy this place more...
Read moreI took my family here on Sunday after church. We had been here a year ago and had a pleasant experience. However this time things were different. I remember from our last visit that the prices were reasonable and we were given plenty of food. Our waitress was great. She was very helpful and attentive. My displeasure comes from the prices and the food quality. My wife and I both had a California Delight chicken breast sandwich. The chicken breast was smaller than the bread it was on. It lacked flavor and was overcooked. The soup spoon given to my wife still had large pieces of dried food on it and the two small drinks we ordered cost $2.79 each (small sized cups). I was paying for 4 people and while I knew it was going to cost a bit, I was not ready for the $55 total bill. With my tip, it was mid $60 range. We also had issues with the owner/ manager yelling for employees to do this or that and disturbing customers with the noise. This restaurant was around when I was a teenager and is in dire need of a renovation. We could have spent the same money going somewhere much nicer. Way too much for what we got. We...
