Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Elkton

Drive-thru was wrapped around the building when we arrived and pulled into slot #16. We figured out what we wanted to order and pressed the red button. It sat flashing for a while and then stopped. We pushed the button again and someone quickly answered. We gave our order and the person was very courteous and thorough in taking it and reading it back. Then we waited, and waited, and waited some more. A half hour passed and the drive through only had two cars (1 at the window and 1 behind it) and neither one was in the line when we had arrived and drive around to our spot. So, after making that assessment, along with the fact that others that had pulled into slots near us and after us had gotten their food, we pushed the red button again. This time a different person came on right away and was ready to take our order. We explained that we were actually just checking on the status of our order that we had placed a half hour earlier. They asked what we had ordered. So, we told them and they said that our order had not been processed because we were not in the drive-thru. Um, no we have been sitting in #16 since we arrived and had placed our order from #16. So, they re-entered our order and processed it that time. We waited another 5 minutes and it finally came out. But then, we were still missing the bottle of water. So, they had to go back in and grab it and bring it back out. The only positive thing about it all at this point was the fries were all hot and fresh. I'm afraid things are going to need to improve at this location or it will end up like so many other locations that I have recently...

Summary: Good fast* food, *not particularly fast, not cheap, with sluggish service. In spite of this I'd come here again although with cavaets. This visit didn't start off particularly well. We specified we had 2 separate orders. In spite of this we were charged for the second order immediately and the first was charged after a moderate wait when that order arrived. Don't order the Limeade. It's a premium charge and much to my disappointment and chagrin, I received a Lemon Lime carbonated beverage (Sprite?) with half of an untouched lime floating in the ice. In addition, my order specified no mayo. What's that white spread on my burger? It can't be mayo. Oh wait. It is. I don't have any medical issues with mayo. I just didn't want it on my sandwich and if it wouldn't take another 15 minute, I'd have sent it back. Otherwise the sandwich and tots were good but nothing really special. It's fast food and I understand that. The other order came out after mine and there was no problem with that one. But, this bit with the Limeade really bugs me. I'm left wondering if someone orders a Lemonade, do they receive the same treatment? Do they receive a Sprite with a slab of lemon? That's not lemonade. So Sonic, you have the opportunity to offer something different and, well, ya didn't. Why should I come here instead of going to anywhere else nearby? You've eliminated Limeade as a reason. This was our 4th and final trip. All 4 trips our food wasn't made right. The last trip my wife ordered a breakfast bacon egg and cheese on Texan toast. Not sure the exact name. Well it came as a hamburger patty, cheese, raw bacon, lettuce tomato, pickle and ketchup. Not one thing was right except the toast. I ordered the bacon on bacon burger ketchup only. The boy said he didn't know how to put it in as ketchup only but he would tell them verbally. Well that was wrong too. Lucky thing I checked because I can't eat mayonnaise. I get sick. This had a ton of mayo, lettuce, pickle. No ketchup, and that was the only thing I wanted on it. I took mine back because I checked it. We got all the way to North East and notice her sandwich was as described above. Usually they are nice, but that last 2x there the workers were sitting on the counters and doing nothing and the girl was rude. Two diff girls, two diff trips. No thank you, your welcome, welcome to sonic, nothing. Hey can I take your order? Ok pull up to the window. We are as polite as we can be. Stay far away after 5pm.
