Very clean and staff attentive. We made a lunch stop here based on "dogs" being offered. The wife and I always sample various menu items at new to us locations. The vegetable beef soup was excellent. The perogies were good but the onions/garlic/butter were excessive. The wife's hotdog was not to her liking. The meat has an unusual taste. My NOT a Chicago dog was a major disappointment. I've eaten Chicago dogs in Chicago for many years and this is not even close. What's on a Chicago dog? Well, it starts with a steamed poppy seed bun and an all-beef frankfurter. Then it's topped with yellow mustard, bright green relish, fresh chopped onions, juicy red tomato wedges, a kosher-style pickle spear, a couple of spicy sport peppers and finally, a dash of celery salt. The dog itself was salty and tasted weird. The pickle spear was very tough and inedible. No sport peppers. Pepperoni pepper on this one. WTH? The tomato was finely chopped and very sparse. Allot more bun than dog/toppings. Smoked polish was also a disappointment. The dog itself was very gritty and tasted nasty. The bun overwhelmed the dog. Scratch this place for dogs. *Note this review was completed without using ridiculous undiscriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, or kids emojis etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No disrespect to the employees but no one cares about the waiter/waitress/clerk names, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. No we don't care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food. **If you see a Google review posted with just stars & no text, report it via the 3 dot selection adjacent to the review. My first time here, and I found it by mistake. The service was exceptional, Lisa was the perfect waitress. The food came super quick and the portion was more than generous. Awesome hash browns with added peppers and onions were top notch, a large side of crisp bacon, and the eggs were perfect. Very rarely do I receive what I expect when ordering scrambled soft, but these eggs were perfectly velvety. The atmosphere is a beautiful thing, the staff all act like family with each other, and they all smiled a lot, which is refreshing nowadays. Most striking were the customers. They came from all walks of life, old and young. That's the mark of a true local joint, a place where the whole town can come to, and expect to be welcomed with a smile. P.S., I also had a Coney Island Hotdog for dessert, and it too was amazing.

Let me tell you, I've heard the legends about this dog eatery. Friends and foes alike have told me stories about this place, and the food and faculty lying within. Three friends, who are now deceased, sadly, had nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. I decided to make a pilgrimage, of sorts, in honor of my late friends; Kakyoin, Polnareff, and Avdol. My daughter was able to gain special leave from her prison sentence to accompany me on this trip, as I felt it would be a good bonding experience. Lo and behold, we were both surprised. The food was invigorating, and easily lived up to the legends. I even took a dog back to my uncle in Japan, and he also had nothing but positive things to say. Thank you for this otherworldly experience, and allowing me to avenge my fallen comrades.

Have been coming here for years, and have always been happy with the food, service and atmosphere. Couldn't rate the last 2 today because we didn't stay that long. Pulled in to see a burned out car on the parking lot. Driving to the other side, we saw one of the cooks carrying trash with gloves on, then walked right back in with them on. Front door hinge was broken, windows, entry way and floors were filthy. Open tables were full of plates and leftover food. The one clear table we found was covered in grease and crumbs. Waitress came over and wiped table, overlooked booth seat which was still covered in debris and grease. The owner recently remodeled, installing awful, bright white LED lights along the booth seating area, dark flooring and ceiling tiles that make the sound so loud it's hard to hear the people at your table speaking. The parking lot and grassy areas are not kept up, and the trees that offered a little shade on a hot day, were recently stripped away. They added some beauty to the older building in need of repair, now that area looks shabby and uninviting. 5 stars to the waitstaff, some of whom have been there for years and continue to show up, and providing pleasant service. The owners' cheap a** a-la-cart approach to everything down to lettuce and tomato on a burger was something we just delt with. A dirty establishment is something else. If the eating area is that bad, one can only wonder what the...
