Valentine's day, my fiance told me to order dinner. As it was Valentine's Day, you can imagine restaurants were busy. Found WC Roadhouse Grill and ordered what I thought was an expensive meal. My fiance wasn't feeling good, so I tried to cancel the order. They told me it was already cooked and ready to go. So he went to pick up the food despite not feeling good. He got there, told the girl to make sure everything was included, she said it was (she came out with 1 bag). He got home and I noticed the drinks were missing. I called, they offered me a refund for the drinks $5 + a gift card. This was before I opened my food. Our $40 blackened steak salad had 5 pieces of steak surrounded by a bed of lettuce. The French onion soup was so thick and clumpy, it came out of the container in clumps. I bit into my $70 lobster and steak dinner (ultimate surf and turf). It was rubbery like an artificial turf and my med rare steak was more well than rare. Called back and asked to talk to the owner and all he could say is that he would not refund our money. Then when my fiance wrote a review on Google and Yelp, he replied with a very rude, immature and school boy response. Check it out, his reply is there. He said that we called and harassed his staff yelling at them. Not true, we did call but only to let them know we had posted a bad review (see call list below) If they say that calling to complain is harassing the staff, imagine how we felt. We felt robbed by this establishment. We are all about supporting our local restaurants. But not if this favor is given back with food not worth the price, also having your valentine's day ruined by an obnoxios restaurant owner. The owner's response shows the of person he is. How can we forget to pick something up when it is curbside pickup. You assume your order is correct when you spend that much money. CUSTOMERS BEWARE.
UPDATE: Check out Jim Rowe's response on Leo Perrone's review. In response to Jim's Rowe's threat of criminal charges, you own a business, you had unhappy customers, deal with it properly like an adult.
Harassment charges, I don't think so. His response was in retaliation to the Google review. Such class Jim Rowe. 1 Call made by me to try to cancel 2 Call made by me to tell them they missed our drinks when the order was brought out to the car 3 Call made by Leo to tell them we were unhappy with the food, have the owner call because we wanted a refund. Which he said no, so we hung up. 4 Call made by Leo to tell the restaurant we gave them a bad review.
WARNING don't give them a bad review otherwise you will be threatened with harassment charges and criminal...
Read moreDuring a recent business trip to Ellensburg, I had the opportunity to dine at Roadhouse Grill. Having noticed this establishment on previous visits but never having the chance to try it, I decided to stop in for a meal.
Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's decor, which evoked a distinct 1990s aesthetic. While this may be intentional to create a "roadhouse" atmosphere, it did feel somewhat dated. The restaurant was notably quiet, with only two other parties present during my visit.
I opted to sit at the bar, where I was greeted by a professional and courteous bartender. In fact, all staff members I interacted with were exemplary in their demeanor and service.
I began my meal with a whiskey sour. While it was adequate, it didn't particularly stand out. As I perused the menu, which was rather limited in scope, I noticed that the prices were significantly higher than comparable establishments in the area.
In conversation with the bartender, I inquired about their expectations for the upcoming rodeo weekend. Her response to "Only time will tell" was somewhat vague. I also learned that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays as a standard practice, not due to staffing issues, as I had initially assumed.
When my meal arrived, I found the sandwich to be average in quality, though the fries were quite good. I concluded my meal with a cookie for dessert, which was also enjoyable.
Overall, while the staff were excellent and the atmosphere unique, the cuisine and value proposition were unremarkable. In my assessment, there are other dining options in downtown Ellensburg that offer a better...
Read moreFirst, what got them up to a 3 instead of a 1. The 5's: A delicious thick strawberry shake with real fruit in it. Perfectly fried artichoke hearts without any of the hard leaves you typically get, along with tasty dipping sauce. The Gold Buckle BBQ Burger is a house favorite and now I see why, because it really was a perfect burger! And each time they served the food fresh using any available wait staff to serve the food, so I Iiked the team effort on a busy New Years afternoon. Those were all the good points.
The 1's: Service was S-L-O-W and inattentive. We got to know the waiter station: We weren't given menus so we got our own menus. We were not given flatware or napkins so we got our own flatware. Throughout the meal we had to get up to supply our own napkins (finger food, juicy burgers, prime rib dip, and sloppy sundaes are messy). The Prime Rib Dip had lots of grizzle and cheese was half melted only covering one side of the sandwich. Our waitress was pleasant but should learn to look at a table and see what is needed - check back.
Finished our meal with the Roadhouse Sloppy Sundae which was a big hat no cattle sundae: 1/4 of the sundae was just whipped cream, then ice cream w/ice crystals, no caramel or chocolate sauce in the sundae itself (it was drizzled on the whipped cream and mostly over sides of the dish), and a hard brownie at the bottom.
We sat in a booth in the almost full bar on New Years day at 3:30PM and by 4:30 there were only two tables that had customers. Point being, the service was inattentive whether it was...
